Awesome - I look forward to checking it out.

But I have a problem with the picture - it's sending all kinds of mixed signals. First - the ladies look as beautiful as they do in person; so far we're right on.

But the dudes - The dude on the right looks like he just woke up and it's in the low 80's.

Then you skip over to the left and you see Ranger Rick looking like he just got back from the summit of Everest.

Next, you've got the guy dressed like it's the mid-60's pointing at Rick and wondering HTF he got back so soon from summiting Everest.

Finally, there's homeboy in the 'I'm either an an incognito perv or a crack poker player because you can't see my eyes' mirrored glasses with a deck of cards and a bottle of water in front of him - a gamblers anonymous poster child in the making.

So which is it, Randall - were you somewhere warm, or at Everest base camp, or somewhere not so warm, or did your magic boat just decide to fly to Vegas?

Either way - I'm impressed you did all of that while hooked to shore power. Let me know next time you go so I can take lessons and tell the kids I'm sorry I missed them this weekend.

I don't even look at the dudes! :smt038

Actually, it got a bit chilly in the morning. Not as cold as "Mr. Mount Everest" shows but a little nippy. The weather warmed up in the PM and we had such a great time, we didn't leave until 3:00. Next time we're going up on Friday afternoon.

Tim,
I was thinking the same thing about it looking too cold for FL. (Grin)
Must have been the one day of winter down there.

Hi John - sorry I didn't get back with you until now, just very busy on Sunday.

I don't know about docking at Peanut. I wanted to find out but ran out of time. We wondered the same thing.

Randy

I spoke with my dock master at PGA Marina about Peanut and this is what he said. Wider than 9~10 beam can't use the slips on the east side. There is a lagoon on the west side ( I saw it last night) that has parallel docking 1st come 1st serve. He said during the weekend you've got a better chance of seeing Jesus water ski around the island than get to those docks!!

The next best thing with boats our size is to pull up to the end of the dock with slips on the east (Sailfish) side, unload your folks, then pull back and anchor 'low tide" in about 3 feet and walk in. The captain gets wet (WTF over).

I cruised around a bit this weekend and noticed a lot of big boat rafting on the north end between the ICW and the island. This is a great place for all kinds of fun and at high tide the water is "gin clear". I am determined to "carefully" scope this area and see where the reliable deep spots are for approaching the island. According to my specs, I can go in 3 feet but I don't know at what point I start sucking up sand into the raw water intakes.

Anyway, this can be done because I see othr big inboard rigs doing it. I have too hook up with someone local to get the straight info on depths and approaches.

I am 7 miles north of Palm Beach Inlet and can tell you for sure that the stretch of ICW north of the Blue Heron Bridge is DARK at night...I think there are 2 maybe 3 lit markers between Blue Herron and US 1 which is about 6 miles. I saw a guy bounce off the side of one of the red ones last night in a CC open fisherman...luckily he wasn't going very fast! If you run that stretch at night be extra careful on nights with no moon.

I think Peanut is a great rendezvous spot for South Florida CSR folks...any one with deep local knowledge please jump in and contribute.

I say let's organize a get together and make a weekend out of it. I would like to arrive Friday night and leave Sunday. That way, we have all day saturday to have fun.

Anybody else interested?????

Randy

I'm in - just not this next weekend - the weekend after? I'm in Key West... You'll have to carry on without me :)

The more the merrier - even if you drive down to join us. Come on down - will be good times, 4 of my buddies are coming south to thaw out.
