This summers gas prices....

PA has the 2nd highest gas tax in the country. We just raised it right after new years. IIRC it's now .61/gallon. Then add in the .18 for federal. Figure .80/gallon in taxes. Even at $4.00/gallon that's 20% tax. At $3.00/gallon that's 26%. Pretty insane. Then to top it off it was meant to pay for infrastructure, maintenance, etc and an audit from a few years ago discovered it isn't being spent for that. They found $4B was missing over about a 4 year period. And PA has been controlled by dems for the past 20 years or so

In fairness Corbett the RINO signed it into law. He should have pushed for more transparency but he did not really want that. The Big elephant in the room for PA is the State Pensions. Nobody will dare touch it ,instead they keep funneling money from elsewhere to pay for it. EX... Gas tax, supporting the State Police pension.

Fucking sick of gas prices. This morning I paid $3.21. 3 1/2 hours later. $3.69.

I could understand if it was around race time. Indianapolis 500.

Just bend over and take it like a good American. Until and unless we have gotten rid of all current politicians it will get worse before it gets better.

My other hobby is competitive target shooting. In our last state election we lost big time, yet the total vote count showed that less than half of the gun owners even bothered to vote at all.

Sick of gas prices? Pfffft. We did it to ourselves.

Jim, what calibers do you shoot? Pistol? Rifle?

You dont sound very @MrHappy
Hence. The name.

Short story long. Back in the 90s I flew out to Utah with my girlfriend and we spent a great week there with her sister. One day I am skiing at Park city and the next I am hiking in shorts at Zion national park.

MrHappy. We are out hiking at Alta and I forget what my problem was but anyways the girls called me MrHappy.

Another line of mine, is when I’m say thank you to somebody at the grocery store or a restaurant etc, I say
“Keep smiling”

At the end of the week I’m back at Alta snow skiing.

Pistol, rifle, shotgun. A better question would be what calibers I DON'T shoot.

Been reloading since 1971 and casting my own boolits since 1975.

Ummm, Jim, I believe that is spelled boolettes.

I shot in PPC (Police Practical Competition) for about 15 years and between that and being a firearms instructor for that same number of years, I figured I fired somewhere around 100,000 rounds. I reached Distinguished Master in PPC shooting. There was only one level above Distinguished and I couldn't afford the bucks to reach that level. The ammo was free but the travel costs would have killed me.

Nice to talk to someone with common interests. I shot "bullseye" with my Sportsman's Club team for many years. Both rimfire and centerfire. Only quit when my work / travel schedule conflicted, and now my eyesight isn't too good.

People that go to Walmart and buy ammunition end up with cartridges composed of cases and bullets. Those that handload their own buy the separate cases and bullets and reload them. Some of us buy lead and melt it down and make our own "projectiles". For us in the hobby, we call the home brew "boolits".

Whenever I complain about the price of gas, my wife tells me that if we cannot afford the gas, can we really afford the boat. Fill up and enjoy.

I only complain about Biden increasing the gas price….. then my wife jumps on board….she really hates Biden….then both of us agree Biden is an ass ….pay the bill and motor on

I went to the marina and filled up the boat with "fresh" gas. It was last year's gas at last year's price, $4.69. It is non-ethanol premium with Valvtect, so not worried about water separation. When we drove to the lake on Friday night street gas was $3.49 for regular. Sunday on the way home it was $2.89. Huh....

We went camping and boating on Lake Monroe in Bloomington, Indiana. I used to keep my boat there for 10 years.

One of my friends decided to go and get some gas cause he thought he might run out. Unbelievable.

$8.92 a gallon!
