I feel or pain, colder then hell here in Ohio also. I'm so ready for this cold to be over. Heading to the Virginia beach area next week maybe it will be a little warmer there.

Out in Montauk with an ocean front room. Open the door and I'm on the beach. Well the snow covered beach. . Snowing and cold. .. stinks

Made it to 36 here today,my little sister(50) races for team giant bikes and it was 3 degrees at the start of todays race.

Consider yourself lucky.
Here's a pic of our 270DA next to the garage taken this afternoon.
It's on a roller trailer with hard packed snow still above the waterline on this side and 3 foot deep on the other.
All topped off with snow forecast through Tuesday :smt089

We could sure use some of that h20 in so cal. It has been dry and hot most of our winter and our reservois are at very low levels. If things don't change, we will be on mandatory rationing soon.

I guess that is why the scientists re-badged "global warming" as"climate change"?

Similar crazy swings with water levels in the great lakes. Two years ago we were at the all time record low levels for Georgian Bay/Lake Huron. Now the forecast is for continued rising through this year and we are already well above the long term average (the gray line in the chart below). The numbers are in meters. So we are almost 3 feet higher than this time in 2013. Think about how much water that is. I did. My quick math says that is about 15.9 Billion gallons of more water in Lake Huron alone over two years (60 million Sq meters of surface X 1 meter of water depth x 265 gallons per square meter).

Two cold winters when the lakes freeze over and we get a more snow than usual and that is the impact. We are in for some interesting times.

Well come get some from buffalo ny we still have plenty we would MORE than happy to let you borrow some
lol

A big thing about the snow is Lake Effect recycling of the water versus storm fronts bringing in the new stuff.
Ice stops the lake effect and evaporation but we really need the snowfall with in the Northern Ontario part of Lake Superior watershed.
Not sure how that plays into your chart, it would be interesting to know.

When lake erie frezzes over it cuts way back on lake effect but lake ontario never does because its so deep i live inbetween both.If you want to see an amazing pic look up wall of snow buffalo ny.7ft of snow 2days

Wow, can't imagine. By the time all that sh*t melts it'll be time to winterize again:smt013:smt021:smt089
Looks like your boating season is measured with a stop watch instead of a calendar eh?

Yeh, everybody is digging out and splashing as soon as the ice is gone - snow falling or not.
I can tell everyone is getting anxious, buddies are starting to talk about and share pics of last years late start and fun.
This was May 25 last year - a month later than usual with the ice:
