Weekending at a very nice marina in the Sac Delta that has 50 amp service. I borrowed a 50-30 adapter to my 30 amp splitter to hook up my two 30s.
When I plugged in I had no power. Breaker on dock tripped. Moved to another 50 outlet. Plugged in set breakers on boat heard buzzing. Shut off boat breakers immediately. Dock breaker did not break.
Finally found a nearby 30 amp service and plugged in my splitter and all was normal.
Went later to turn on the Sat TV, inverter for the Sat box is dead, then found that the breaker for my 24 volt thruster inverter/charger was tripped. Tried to reset and immediately tripped.
Some how those are the only casualties.
Any one have a clue as to why or what could have caused it?
I’m going to Ohm out the borrowed 50-30 coupler to see if it’s shorted. It’s a gently used Marinco not a Home Depot cheapie.
I’ll post what I find.
