This boat sure looks clean

Gonna have to go with Jennifer is hotter, lucky for me my wife is hotter then Jen, and she also thinks the old hatteres' are gorgeous too. Yeah, I want one, and no I am not old

Um, how do I ask without offending?

Dang, I just can’t think if a way to soften this.

OK, let me ask it this way........those of you that find these old Hatteras boats to be ‘sexy’ or as one member put it ‘drool over’ I have a question for you.

Of the two below photos, who do you find more sexy?

I find it a little contradictory that we have a thread on CSR drooling about a 35 year old Hat MY.......yet we are the same guys who will not go to the dealer for parts because they are expensive compared to Auto Zone, and we complain over the cost of routine replacement parts like exhaust castings or water pumps for production boats

Just wait till you maintain a 35 year old motor yacht or LRC and you repair parts have to be made somewhere for your boat.

Ehi...women kind of change their curves with age... boat, cars, furniture etc...no!:grin::grin::grin:

I'll bet that this one sells fast if there are no issues with the powerplant.

So do you think $169 is high, or low???

Lot of boat for the money- but she is thirty-five years old. I looked on YW- more pics- and the interior looks to be in good shape, but obviously dated as it's original.

Not much mention in the specs about upgrades- who knows how old the mechanicals are... and the specs don't even mention air/heat units (?). Pics of the ER are conspicuously absent which makes me wonder.

Bottom line is, no telling whether the price is fair, high or low without a thorough run through and survey. Great example of a classic Hatt. Hatteras also made a LRC (Long Range Cruiser) the same size during that period which is still very much in demand- trawler design/speeds for extended cruising, I believe they have trans-Atlantic range.

As for the comment about washing/waxing above- that's the good thing about an Awlgrip paint job- no more waxing- ever...

A friend told me "When you stop dreaming, it's time to get out of boating." Same guy is also a former Hatteras owner. In his opinion, anything under $200K probably isn't worth considering because of the amount of reconditioning required. We talked about them for about 30 minutes and I reached the conclusion that while they're fun to dream about, they would, indeed, cost a small fortune to maintain.

If you really like the Hatteras boats, do a search on e-Bay and look for old magazine ads for sale. I bought one several years ago as a motivation to keep looking higher.
