Thinking of a few nights in Fire Island

Thank you guys,,, Once it gets closer I might ask a few more questions as, How the Channel is doing...

Thank you very much for providing these valuable informations.

There is another choice for fuel just inside Jones Inlet in Reynolds Channel.
Clear the inlet, make a kind of U turn in to Reynolds Channel and the fuel dock will be on your port side. They turn over a lot of fuel too.

I would try to fill up at Bergen Point heading east. They usually have the best prices and turn over the fuel fast so it's always fresh.

Watch the tides with Bergen point. Ive fueled up there before, and agree the move enough fuel, and it was clean.....but, it is pretty shallow. I ended up spending several minutes trying to loosen the seaweed wrapped around the shafts. I had such a nasty vibration that was felt at idle.

... and its a fairly tight and busy canal at the fuel dock - with a lot of impatient boaters coming through sometimes. I had one cut me off once as I was pulling in broadside.

I could never understand the rush in boating... When someone is in a hurry to dock or get fuel somewhere... Boating in itself should never be rushed... Its a enjoyment just being on the water... Relax and enjoy life...

You may pay a bit more a gallon, but if you’re in that area, not familiar with it, apprehensive about the low tide, and need fuel, head north up the Lindenhurst cut from the state boat channel and straight in to the canal at the top. Just inside the canal Marine Max will be on the left, and “The Anchorage” will be on your right. Both turn over lots of fuel and less worries about skinny water getting in and out of there. Their process are usually a little higher than Bergen Point, but much easier getting in and out of you aren’t familiar with the area.
If continuing on to Fire Island from the fuel dock you can get a nice straight shot to the Robert Moses Causeway in the north Channel with no 5 mph zones.

Just go to Nickey's on the bay in Bay shore Very deep water very easy to get into it is the first marina on the left as you enter the marine, fuel dock is very easy to get into with tons of room and while you are there have lunch a great place to eat.
Go to the second floor an have a look at the whole Fire Island from the top of the restaurant. At night on weekends they have live bands
Great sea food.

Another great choice if you want both fuel and waterfront dining.

Easy to get into, just follow the channel markers.

It’s a bit of an “S” turn to get in there. Don’t go straight in from the south. If a ferry is coming or going, watch them, they’ll show you the way.
