I am toying around with the idea of removing the stupid carpet headliner and replacing it with a vinyl covering. I have read somewhere on here people talking about using some sort of backer board behind the vinyl then gluing it up or using Velcro. Does anyone have a link or something to the type of backing that could be used for something like this? I would imagine it would have to be fairly flexible due to the non flat nature of the ceiling.

Also with respect to the portholes, I have a 2000 240. it seems most of the boats of that time frame had the same style portholes. I am curious as to whether the stainless frame on the outside is through bolted to the frame on the inside. Or if they are individually screwed into the hull on both the inside and outside independent from each other. This is going to be important when it comes to getting the vinyl around the portholes.
