Things like this is why I am for Alternative energy.

...and the liberals still don't want us to tap into our own oil fields. Watching an enormous transfer of wealth happen makes me queezy, watching it go to a man like this makes me realy sick.

but we can't drill on US soil. I would be too afraid of a molecule dying in the tundra's of Alaska where anything living can not survive. Instead, lets let China drill off our coast! :smt013

We have the ability to drill efficiently and safely... but our damn hands are tied. I am all for alternative energy (i love the prospects of hydrogen) but in the meantime.... WE NEED TO DRILL.

We're on the same page. I say drill, clean or not, but especially because we can do it cleanly. But in the meantime, lets let private investment fund the search for alternative energy in the private sector (as opposed to private dollars being taken by the public sector) and I personally (even though I will still bitch) don't mind too terribly paying a little more for gas to keep our money HERE, instead of giving it to bastards like that. I too am a big fan of hydrogen, one of these days people will have to get over the hindenberg. Even though it was the fabric and paint that were most responsible for its demise, people of course think it was all about the hydrogen, and are still freaking out about it.

And BHO thought it fitting to shake his hands a few times and pat him on the back. That's our new world diplomacy in action boys...

Uhhh... What do you think companies and universities have been doing for the last 30 years? Since I was a kid there have been stories about hydrogen this, solar that, etc. None of it has proven to work reliably or cost effectively. Even in Europe, where they have sky-high energy taxes, there's currently not much in alternative energy.

A few new solar power plants went on-line in the last few years, but I have not seen cost breakdowns for them. Don't know if they work because of heavy government subsidies or if technology finally caught up with the challenges.

Best regards,
Frank C

I am hearing things about the solar power plants. . .we are spending *real money* (not DOE money) looking into implementing this technology as a 9 figure power plant.

I took video of a solar car on the way to work today. I'll post it early next week.
