I have a 2000 340DA with twin 7.3L MPI. The thermostat on the Port engine was replaced last season, near the end of the season and registered normal operating temp (175 degrees) until this weekend when it registered between 130-150 degress. Starboard engine is fine

Any thoughts why it might run at this temp (130-150)?

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago....only it was at 107 degrees. A grain of sand or something got stuck as the thermostat closed when it cooled. My temp would go to 160 deg when I loaded it to get on plane and cruise, but I hated doing it.

Since it is new, you could toss it in a pan of 180 degree water, then remove it and place it in another pan of cool water...the quick temperature change often is enough to allow the spring force the contaminent out....or you could just get another new thermostat....that's what I did.
