I bought a thermostat kit for my 1985 SeaRay and it came with 3 gaskets and 2 o-rings (one cork and one plastic).

Does anyone know which gasket and which o-ring I should be using? I attached a photo of the kit and a photo of my engine/thermostat housing.

Thanks!

I's like a carb rebuild kit, all parts don't get used. Why do you think yours is not installed properly. Last open cooled motor I had used the gasket with the rivets and the circular cork pc.

Mine is fresh water cooled and was missing the t stat completely. It looks like I have the same housing as you. I assembled it according to the parts diagram and its been fine. I assembled it in this order... cork ring, t stat, brass sleeve, gasket with brass contacts, cover. The solid gasket and o-ring are not used in our application. The brass sleeve is not included in the t stat kit.

Do I need the brass sleeve? What is it?
