WARRANTY! If anyone ever asked if Sea Ray backs their product the answer is definitley YES, and here is the proof. In 1992 I purchased a brand new Ski Ray model SK190 closed bow inboard tournament ski boat. After the first year cracks appeared on the forward deck where you step out to the bow. Having owned SeaRay boats before I had never seen stress cracks on any Sea Ray. The dealer ground them out and filled them at no charge. New cracks appeared again the following season. Since this is highly unusual the dealer fixed them again, at no charge. Fast forward to 1996. Stress cracks had re-appeared so the dealer took the boat into storage and a factory rep came out to inspect the deck and hull. To my amazement the boat was shipped back to the production facility in Arizona (I live in new Hampshire). Having determined a dry resin issue when the boat was cast they removed the entire interior, drivetrain, windshield, and accessories, and then CRUSHED the deck and hull. They re-cast an entire new boat embossed with the ORIGINAL hull numbers, re-assembled everything, and I was back in the water in the spring of 1997. The factory apologized for any inconvenience and the dealer threw in a new battery at no charge with their apologies too. 2011: the boat still runs great and there are no signs of cracks anywhere (see attached PIC). If you are in the market for a new boat I would highly recommend a Sea Ray. Who else would back their boat like this???? Sincerely, a very satisfied customer!

Wellcome to CSR, nice Sea Ray!

Nice story, but that was in the "other century"... would it be the same today??? I'm thinking of Scott's leaking hull....

Great story.
Kudos on your maintanance skills too. Your boat looks brand new. Very nice.

They do that for the hull but nothing else. After 12 months you pay for parts and repair for everything else with big bucks!

Excellent!

Welcome to CSR!

So it's a 20 year old boat celebrating it's 15th birthday? That's pretty good. Welcome aboard.

i am also on lake champlain, but all the way down in ticonderoga,ny

This was a direct flaw in material/workmanship at the factory. Glad to see SR step up and take care of it. I wonder if anyone as a more recent story. Many componets are supplied by outside venders so the one year warranty would apply to those but hulls are a direct SR product and should be case by case decided no matter how old the boat is.

Just my opinion and welcome to the site.

and then CRUSHED the deck and hull.
They tried to sneak a Baysinker hull on you as a Sea Ray and they got caught doing it.

Welcome to CSR. :smt001

Welcome to CSR. That is an impressive story. But it was a long time ago. Hope they do still take care of their new customers today. Opinions seem to varry.

...AND..would you like to share your story? I might be in the market for a boat like yours...

Can't as I am still in the process of working with Searay, and a slew of other parties trying to get my boat fixed. If you want more details PM me. I will share my story but only after the boat has been correctly fixed and I have all the facts.
