I think if you buy vanilla anything …let alone bourbon… you should have to turn in your man card for at least two weeks or until you finish the bottle.

Who does this guy @Blueone think he is anyways!? It's a shame...the wife forgot it when she went to a baby shower over the weekend...so it's still sitting on the counter...

I would forget it too…… who the heck is going to drink vanilla bourbon at a baby shower?…. You messed up and you make your wife get rid of the evidence?

Yep....with every baby shower there's a soon to be dad in need of bourbon....who's 22 and turns down bourbon? No one LOL.

Nothing but Bullet or Knob Creek. Knob has a great single barrel 120 proof that is perfect with orange bitters and a ball of ice. Of course it must be smoked. Simply the best.

I also use Strong Water at times. Have a bottle on the boat and house. Neighbors daughter likes the to add the cherry's.

It's Bulleit :) Yes, that and Knob Creek are in my cabinet as well. And Buffalo Trace when I can find it.

Bulleit Rye or Bourbon?

Anyone tried Col. Taylor yet? Holy buckets its good if you can find it.
No, never heard of it. I need to look next time.

I've gone to a few bourbon tastings at buddies homes recently. They bring out the $1000+ stuff for blind tastings. Lucky for me I have always like the ~$50 bottle stuff the best :)

Have you tried "Iron Smoke"?

Bourbon, the original moonshine, corn mash all the way.

Buffalo Trace has a nice pre-made old fashioned in a bottle, 90 proof.

I found a bottle of that in my dad's bar....unopened....no telling how long it had been in there. (Dad passed away in 2015, so I wasn't stealing it from him, per se) Brought it to the boat to share with friends. I knew nothing about it. My gosh is it good. One friend, who likes the finer things in life when it comes to food and drink, said it was spectacular. So then it became the "special" bottle. When it came out, you only got 1 shot. I almost cried when we emptied the bottle. Great stuff.

I have a friend who lives in the mountains who cooks up the corn stuff. Is comes out clear and strong. If he only would invest in barrels and have 12 years of patience.

I'm at beer guy by trade. My favorite is Bud Light. I stock this in my boat fridge as well as my porch fridge (chilled to a cool 33 deg F) My new favorite whiskey is Uncle Nearest. Very smooth. Great story too on this. Uncle Nearest taught Jack Daniels how to make whiskey.

MrsR, you can get Buffalo online. I pay just about the same at TopBourbon as we do in the ABC store.
