The Last Whaling Ship

That would definitely be a trip worth taking, or any part of it.

We'll be on the east coast this summer but it will be after the ship is back in port. It'd be a 5 hour drive from where we'll be to go see her. We might have to see about making that trip.

it will be worth the trip! I'm sure we will see her at least once.

My great grandfather was a whaler out of Somerset Ma in his early years then went to farming and had a huge chicken farm. He supplied Admiral Byrd with eggs and provisions for both of his Antarctic Expeditions. But he always wanted to be back on the water.

I've toured the ship about 6 times over the years as they were rebuilding her, I want to see her out in the water under sail. I bet it's an awesome sight.

She'll be back in Mystic in time for the Northeast Flotilla's arrival.

I'm hoping to take the tour of her when we're in Mystic. We saw her while she was under construction. Very impressive site.

I am fortunate to be slipped in Mystic this year. Our marina, Brewers will be hosting a party that day as she sails by. I plan to take many photos.....

X2 for sure

Looks really cool. I can't attend but I did see an up close view of one of the whaling boats made for the event in Alexandria, VA.
