The Itch is Bad - When do you other winterizers "Splash" for 2010?

As soon as the ice is gone from Candlewood. I'm hoping the last week of March. My slip is open as soon as the ice is gone.

Targeting March 26th assuming the roads are clear since my dealer has to haul the boat 90 miles by semi-trailer to get to its new home. Although the average low temperature here by that time in March is above freezing, below freezing low temperatures have occurred into May so I am going to buy a bilge heater just to be safe. The PO put FWC on both engines so they are protected but the water systems are at risk.

I have to wait for the magic words "ice out" in Winni. I have my storage location splash right after the call. Looking forward to a couple warm days in march/April to buff and wax hull and start doing some prep work. I had the yard install a zipper door on shrink wrap so I can access.

By the look of things, those of you in the Mid-Atlantice may be layed up longer than those of us in NE or the Great Lakes

Lakes here open up March the First. but still have 14 inchs of Ice on them so Im hoping by mid March

May 7th @ 10am. Was planning for April but we'll be in Puerto Rico until the last of the ice thaws.
.

Well who would of thought. A few weeks ago, I would have thought we were looking late April. But, we have spring and I launched her last night. That was after two days of painstaking bottom paint and waxing below the rub rail. But hey, I am in and now can do my spring list a little early.

Yesterday. Went to North Island light house in Georgetown. Renamed her... complete with ceremony. Anchored and used the dinghy for the first time. Got alot of new season kinks worked out and/or figured out. But it was a beautiful, no cloud in the sky 80 degree day!

Now you have to rename your CSR account just to cover all the bases...I'm just saying...:wow:

After the snow here last night I was thinking our lakes would never melt but then today the snow is all but gone. I may get the boat in the water soon

yeah

Boat comes out tomorrow morning!!!
Going to be 70° by next week. "splash'

Marina called yesterday, she's been commissioned and is ready for pick-up. Now to get her back to my yard to do some spring projects:
- Adding XM Weather
- Treat Fabric
- Polish and Buff

Plan to splash the 18th.

Before anyone goes for it be sure your insurance does not have the "layup" clause that does not permit leaving dock until a certain date (mine is 4-15). Those dates will impact the insurance cost.

April 28th splashing at Lake Powell. Providing no late snowstroms that affect So Utah temp s/b mid 70 maybe bumping 80 if we are lucky.

Congrats Scott. I pick mine up on Tuesday, then I get to start polishing!
