The future of EVs? Maybe not so bad?

Okay, and they have also been threatening to take away Social Security for decades, yet here we are.

I thought the Bumpstock ban had been repealed?
It's because they're all sitting on the lots down here! Move south, where you can still buy trucks and use your boat all year.

According to the ATF website they regulated in the same manner as fully automatic weapons.

South Carolina is on my short list for semi-retirement after my Mom is gone. And that's knowing you live there.... Actually, I'll buy you a beer and argue about EVs.

Do you feel uncomfortable when you get below half tank of gas? On our first trip with the EV, I was watching the "range" like a hawk, then I realized that there was a station on just about every other exit, 3 exits at most. Even in SC. Granted this is with a Tesla, and if you were to ask my opinion, I would suggest a Tesla simply due to the increased charging options and the fact that it pretty much tells you all of the options available as you approach a low charge. It also gives you recommendations for places to eat nearby.
Not as nervous as I would with an EV. I know how far I can go in my truck when I'm down to 1/2 tank. With batteries it isn't always linear. You see it all the time. Your phone takes awhile to drop to 50% then the last 50% goes much faster.

And god forbid the temperature drops....

I think you ICE guys are jealous you can’t use coal for fuel…. :)

Wait, is coal oil a thing?
In large quantities, the coal was refined to extract the oil and was burned in household lamps. With the discovery of new petroleum deposits in the nation and the production of cleaner-burning kerosene oil, coal oil usage quickly declined. Today, scientists are working to convert coal into other liquid fuels.

Crap, I knew this. Wasn’t the military trying to turn it into jet fuel as well?

Interesting.

From this article. Europe is beginning to turn against the prophets of climate alarmism (msn.com)

It’s all moving quite quickly. Last autumn, Germany signed an EU target to ban the sale of internal combustion engine cars by 2035. It now opposes the idea, as does Italy, Poland and Czechia. That’s not to say the green agenda is collapsing under the pressure of public scorn: it’s simply being subjected to the kind of scrutiny that was never applied in the first place. How much will it cost? What will it achieve? Germany’s transport minister has been making a good argument: what’s the point in electric cars if the power that drives them comes from burning coal?

Keep in mind Germany (mostly controlled by VW) convinced all of Europe that diesel passenger cars were the answer to pollution. But a city full of Diesels is not a friendly place to be.

there’s no magic bullet here. The only real solution to transportation pollution is to stop transportation. We aren’t doing that. Ever.

That's news...Germany is "controlled" by VW? Huh, I guess Tesla controls the US....

The automotive industry in Germany is mostly controlled by the desires of VW. And if you’ve ever been to europe it’s hard to argue that VW was highly successful in convincing europe that little diesels were a good idea.

Not to split hairs, but that is a bit different than "VW controls Germany"...

Problem is there is no real problem here. Once we get 10 years past the predicted end of the world (see John "Lurch" Kerry and Al "I invented the internets" Gore at Davos in 2009 predicting horrific events coming in 2013) with no real problems the story should die. Problem is there is still money to be made in the climate change unicorn...
