By far the best part of my short time in boating has been the friends we have made. It would seem while out on the water and at the Marina everyone is just more relaxed and friendly. The boating life is truly a wonderful experience, with my only regret is I did not get into it sooner.

Last weekend we went to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore with our friends from La Dolce Vita, and again had a wonderful time.

So here is to “The Boating Life”!

Those are great pics
Thanks for sharing. T-minus 4 hours and we're heading out for the weekend. Can't wait. It'll be 70 + here today.

Nice pics! C+D canal to Chesapeake Bay and on down? How was the ride? How much fuel did you burn? Did you stay down there over night?

We were coming out of the Gunpowder River, so we go behind Hart Miller and pass Back River and use “the cut”, then into the Patapsco. I used about 65 gallons of gas total. It only takes about two hours to get there so we did not spend the night. Slow going once you pass Fort McHenry because of the 6 knot speed zone. We left early in the morning to be sure to get a spot on the wall in front of Phillips Crab House.

Yes, the boating life is good! Nice pics. You must have cruised right by us... we're on the outer most floating dock at Inner Harbor East marina.

Well we went right by there. I remember looking for that Marina since we are coming down in June for the CSR gathering.

Nice Pictures.

I was wondering if you could tie up at the inner harbor and walk around.

I like the picture of you helping your wife (?) get on the boat, while still holding your beer.

It looks like the marine police were cruising in the background on the other pictures. I guess the Marine Police are a little more tolerant in Baltimore, the NJ State Police would have given you a breath test. Every time I see the marine police in my area, they have someone pulled over.

Great sentiment and fantastic pics, thanks for posting those up.

We originally bought the boat as a weekend toy for watersports, but ended up enjoying the things you hit on even more...hanging out on the boats with friends and family and just all around relaxing and clearing the mind.

Cool....
Thanks for sharing!!!
Ok where are the small boats (Grin)

Hey if something is going to get dropped overboard it’s going to be her, not my beer.

We were walking around the area when we first got there. Going past the restaurants and seeing the people drinking beer at the pier bars made me thirsty. (Like I need an excuse). Well we went back to the boat and we were going to Phillips to eat lunch but decided to have a beer on the boat first. Anyway I just opened the damn thing and the Marine Police went right by me and asked me for my attention, I thought oh crap. The first thing he said was “Don’t worry I not worried about the beer”. Apparently before we got back to the boat a Sail boat came in and came too close to mine, and the police thought the guy hit me, he was asking me to look for any damage by the anchor. He made the Sail boat come back as well. There was no damage so if he did hit my anchor then he got the worst of it; he said he did not hit me. Nothing wrong on my boat so no BFD.

It does cost to tie up to the wall; I think it was $14 for 5 hours.

Thanks for the insight on the inner harbor. $14 for 5 hours is cheap! I used to do a dock and dine with my friends boat on the Hudson River accross from NYC at Lincoln Harbor Marina and I think they charged either $1.50 or $2 a foot, and you were not in the middle of the action like you were in those pictures. That looks like a very nice day.

I have to confess, I was (already) considering my next boat and was checking out the 380 on line. After seeing your pictures the 380 doesn't look that much nicer than your 320. That is a nice looking 320.

Don't get me wrong, that 380 is a sweet boat too, but not sure it would be worth spending double what I paid for my 320.

Ok, I went back and studied the pictures some more. There is a picture of the back of the 380 with a ferry in the distance. Is that a homeless person sitting right next to the boat holding a beer can?

There is a picture of some guy on the dock next to the 380 sleeping. I don't think he had a beer and I did not offer.... my bad.

I told Hans to expect him in the cockpit when we got back from our walk:grin:
