The results are in. Power Boat Reports just punlished their results of their fresh water bottom paint tests in Lake Erie.
Winner is ... drumroll ... Sea Ray's standard bottom paint Pettit Hydrocoat.
It already finshed strong in their Florida and NE tests in the past two years and now it topped the list.

Having used Pettit Hydrocoat for years, I'm wondering how they rated it in salt water. (Note: it sure cleans up easier than solvent based paint.)

In PBRs last two bottom paint tests in 2005 and 2006 with two locations each (one in FL and one in the Chesapeake Bay I think) Hydrocoat also scored very highly in both locations, albeit not at the top and was not the top recommended paint.

I used HydroCoat for the previous 3 seasons on my old '89 340 Dancer with great results. Did the bottom a few weeks ago on my new/old 350 EB and expect the same results again. The product being waterborn, is extremely easy to work with, clean up and NO FUMES!

West Marine only offers Hydrocoat in 1 gallon cans...Anyone know where it can be had in a quart can for touch up?
