Trunk Monkey. That was accurate with the donut.

The BMW advertisement was BS because they didn't show the roadside assistance guys trailing with a van full of parts and tools.

I have a very close friend with a BMW X5. That POS qualifies under the lemon law a dozen times over. It's so bad that as his wife was driving it off the dealers lot after being serviced, the stupid fault light went back on, so back in it went. At least the next time she picked it up, she actually got onto the highway and a mile down the road before the fault light went on again. BMW style improvement, I guess.

He owns his own business and unfortunately, the corporation bought it instead of buying it personally. So he's stuck since the Lemon Law doesn't cover corporately owned vehicles.

I got rid of the BMW we had earlier this year. It was also a POS. It was a 1999 323ic convertible with the M trim package on it and I only had around 25K miles when I got rid of it. It was on it's 3rd set of tires, it had to be serviced more than my weed eater, and the windshield cracked because the body integrity was so bad.

I traded it in on a Honda.

3 sets of tires with only 25k miles??? When I traded in my Wrangler, it still had the original tires on it after 11 years with more than enough tread for another 5 years.

And as far as tires go, generally speaking it is more the tire itself rather than the car (unless there are alignment or lead-foot issues) that determines how long they last. My sons Acura had OEM tires that only lasted 25K miles. But with a good set of Michelin replacements he now has better than 50K miles on those tires. On my Explorer, even with AWD, I get over 50K miles wear before replacing them and they are also Michelins.

Sounds like the sports cars had the Z rated tires.. I only get about 17K on a set on the Audi. I just got W rated which seem to be just as 'sticky' (as if I'm racing around in them anyway) but are suppose to last closer to 40K miles.
