Ok... Despite 2 reminders not to flush anything other than the Sealand TP, she did it anyway. :smt021

After a thorough scolding, I went to take a look. The wad got stuck in the ball, and was completely blocking the hole in the bottom. The bowl was nearly full of water because she had apparently tried multiple flushes in an attempt to clear it. I had a pair of channel lock pliers on board, so I killed the water pump, hit the flush lever, and tried to remove ball of paper towel. As I started pulling on it, the vacuum sucked it clean out of the grip of the pliers. It looks like it went all the way through. I was able to flush it normally 3 times after that. Am I out of the woods? Or is that wad of paper towel going to find a way to lodge itself in the duckbills in a couple of days?

Thanks,
Michael

This looks like a question for Gary. I'd say buy some of that enzyme stuff to disolve it in your holding tank for at least a week. It may muck up the vent or other parts in there.

Forfid her from usingnthe head until you are sure the towels have desolved. Put those chemicals in holding tank and let them do the work. The towels will break down like TP but it will take a lot longer.

Is there a tank level sensor in there? They're notorious for getting stuck and paper towels will be a problem if they stick there and dry a bit. Best to get it pumped out ASAP.

Thanks guys. I went to the boat yesterday evening, and the head looks like it is still working OK.

The plank is being installed this week. Can anyone tell me where I might find some shark infested water in the northern Chesapeake Bay? I have a small child that looks like good shark food ready to go.

I'll get some of the chemicals (is "headzyme" good enough?) in there, and pump it out this weekend.

Thanks,
Michael

"Sharks with frickin laser beams.....Or ill tempered sea bass"(Dr. Evil) might do the trick

Don't feel bad. Some how the "It wasn't me" elf (five 23-25 year old kids) was on board this past weekend and ended up with sand in the Vacuflush. Then you hear "Dad......... the toilet is making a crazy noise" :smt013

Glad it wasn't "girl things"

Time to pull the head, but after I get get it pumped out of course.:smt089

Haha... misery loves company. I assume that the "funny" noise was coming from the seals leaking vacuum? Might be a good time to change out the ball seal while you have it apart if you haven't done it in a while.

I hate working on the head. :smt013

the problem I had with paper towels was the hose from the pump to the holding tank. They got stuck in there way up at the top. They made their way through the valves, the poo masher, but reorganized in the tube. Just the thought of it is making me feel nauseous.
