The 2014 NFL Playoff Thread.

What exactly is up with all the overblown bravado Seahawks fans exhibit, not only in this thread, in other threads, in other forums, and article comments? At CSR I rarely see similar comments by fans of other teams with all the "whistling down the alley" that Seahawks fans do. A little confidence in your team is great, but I have noticed an overabundance exhibited by Seahawks fans. Are the Seahawks such a weak team that they cannot win a game if the opponent doesn't play in a 130+ decibel environment that their fans take so seriously?

MM

Because the only championship they have ever won is the "12th Man Bowl"...............J/K, just having some fun, actually I'm hoping the Seahawks get the job done.

There were very few SF wins that were playoff teams.

Seattle and San Francisco had similar records against teams with winning records at 4 wins and 4 losses for SF, 4 wins and 3 losses for Sea. Winning teams are the 12 playoff teams and the left out Arizona Cardinals.

SF won over GB, Sea, and AZ twice, while losing to Sea, Ind, Car, and NO

Sea won over Car, SF, AZ and NO, while losing to Ind, SF, and AZ.

So SF actually had the slightly harder schedule as you had identical opponents except for the 2 games the NFL assigns. Seattle got to play the NY Giants and Minnesota Vikings, while SF played GB, (a playoff team with a winning record.) and the Washington Redskins.

Mike (et al), if I had to 'splain it to ya, ya still wouldn't understand. I've been a Seahawks fan since I came to the PNW in 1976, the same year they got started. We're just danm proud of the Hawks and, speaking personally here, I was an ardent fan even through the years when they almost couldn't buy a victory. Those were the days of "Ground Chuck" Knox and many others who just couldn't lead the team to a winning season. Now that they're having a great season and all roads lead to Seattle, it just makes being a long time Seahawks fan even better. You mentioned an "overabundance" of confidence. Really? Overabundance of confidence in the team? I doubt it.

Our confidence is justified. We have a 13-3 record. The only other team to match that is the Broncos, and they have a quarterback who's been around the NFL since Moses was in diapers, and we've done it with a veritable rookie quarterback. Overabundance of confidence? I doubt it. They've proved they are worth our high level of confidence.

But to counter some of the remarks about the Hawk fans being the only loud and boisterous ones, check out the Cheeseheads in Packerland and some of the other fan bases around the NFL. We're not the only strong fan base, but we definitely are the loudest and proudest!!!

Superbowl this year will be Broncos vs. Seahawks.

BTW, MM, here's how Beachcomber was decorated for the Christmas boat parade. Skippers are allowed to choose any theme they want to decorate their boats. We chose the Seahawks and got more loud cheering and horn honking and headlights flashing than any of the other boats in the parade.

We've been behind them since they started in the AFC through all the bad times we almost always sold out, they built this team we didn't need to steal it from another city which really stinks after going thru it with the Sonics.

Seachicken fans should watch Steeler fans, Niner fans, Patriot fans and yes, even Cowboy fans to feel what REAL winning is like!

Two things - my Chiefs will reclaim the loudest record and I was living in Lake Oswego OR in '76, in fourth grade and Jim Zorn came to my school - actually to my individual classroom. I will never forget that - the next year I started playing PeeWee football.

Ok, three things your rookie will not make it to the show.

Ok, FACT: Arron and Randell missed several games and the packers are still in it! FACT: Now they are back with the team and resuming their winning ways. FICTION: a west coast team with a warm weather rookie quarterback goes to Lambeau field in January and wins!

It'll be so cold on Sunday that when Kaepernick takes the snap, his fingers will break off.
It's so cool that the GB players are immune to sub zero temperatures. That must be quite a feat of chromosome engineering! It will be F'ing cold for everyone! I want to see someone with dreadlocks tackled by their hair and have it all break off!

Ok, I'll weigh in.

Bengals, Colts, New Orleans (just cuz it's time the 0-5 road losses in the playoffs ends) and Green Bay. Going with Green Bay only on a hunch. Numbers say 49ers, but Harbaugh is just so aggravating!

GW and I were talking about this at dinner. I made the observation that the "winter" clothes that most niners fans will have is not suitable for the winter temps they are going to find in Green Bay. I bet the sporting goods and clothing stores will be selling the heck out of their ski jackets and other down clothing prior to the game.

Would that many 49'er fans go all the way to GB? Heck, the team may need to get equipment for this...
