Would there be anything wrong with testing a Cruiseair system on the trailer using the hose? I don't have a geni installed yet and wanted to try out my HVAC system. I could put a geni on my swim platform, but I don't want to give anyone a heart attack lol

They actually make a plunger looking device that has an adjustable handle that will cup up against the intake in the hull and your garden hose will attach to it.

I use that exact device, and to get the pump primed I just use my cordless shop vac for a second on the discharge after plugging the boat in. Mine reverts to its last settings so if it was set cold in ac mode it powers up Immediately once plugged in

That is a great tip…

Once the water is running I recommend standing at the helm and make motorboat noises with your lips
That's kind of the point of my post... I'm going to have my wife splash some water up on me too. lol!

I was thinking about doing it that way or throwing a tee in the line in the bilge. Just happy my idea wasn't off the mark and that I'll be able to test my a/c before wasting time on replacing my geni. Really August Virginia humidity is the main reason I want the geni.

Thanks for all the comments gents!

I put in a purge/fill valve. Allowed for it to works in both direction. Makes priming simple with a garden hose or you can in water winterize.

I will post a picture later if I can find it.

Thanks Kevin.

This is what I put inline between the main seacock and the strainer. You can spit the sides with the main ball valve and the hook into either the inlet or feed sides independently.

I like it. That's a hell of a valve, but simple to use. I might have to pick one up.

Hey Kevin, Lookie what showed up on my doorstep. Serious piece of brass!
I picked up a fake a lake too, but my through hull is too close to my trailer bunk right now. I'm going to remedy that soon. I've been wanting to adjust them and now now I have a better reason...
This valve will be perfect. Thanks for the suggestion.

Some piece of hardware. ;)
Don't forget you will need some female-female garden hose thread adapters. Easy pick-up at HD or Lowes. Plus a few barb ends.
