I am planning an extended trip to the Abacos in May and June. I am planning to upgrade the entertainment equipment in my 460 Convertible. Do I spend the money on on Satellite, or will omnidirectional work fine? I am not that interested in watching a great deal of television.

I believe the only "over the air TV service" available in the Bahamas is in Freeport and Nassau. Everywhere else, TV is by either cable or dish (mostly dish now). One of the good things about sat TV on your boat is the availability of up to date weather. I was in the Exumas one summer and was monitoring the path of a tropical storm approaching from the east. As it turned out, we had to leave early due to the oncoming storm.

With the storm deductibles in Fl, I think I just justified my KVH!
