My Brother in Law has a boat with some teak that needs refinished. The last time I did this was 20+ years ago. Was just wondering if there are any new products out there that can improve the longevity of the process? Are there any sealants that can be applied after the teak is oiled?

If not, what is the best product / process out there for refinishing ?

Thanks

I've had great results with Starbrites Tropical Teak Oil Sealer, clean the teak as you would normaly and apply sealer with foam brush, some blue masking tape also helps. I've gotten two seasons on my anchor pulpit and swim platform inserts on my last boat. The teak that wound up under the cockpit cover lasted four to five seasons on a boat that was in the water for seven months each season. only took a couple of hours to prep and seal.

sikkins cetrol marine - That's the only one I use now for exterior. A lot of people swear by it self included.

+1. I used it on both external teak (last year) and internal teak (this winter). It's easy to use, looks great, and lasts.
