Tax refunds

The 280DA owners are infighting. :smt021 I thought you guys were supposed to be a unified group? :smt089 What happened to the good old days when the 280DA owners teamed up against the new 290DA owners and everyone was throwing up in their mouths together?:grin:

I still had the IRS booklet on my desk and it is where I got the numbers in the earlier post where I used numbers. (I wouldn't use my real ones on the net).

But you just made my point about it being a cut... They just changed the numbers in the tables so that more money will be taxed at a lower rate... $600 lower if your AIG is 80K... That lower rate is where the money is coming from... Taxing more money at a higher rate would be an increase. The only "risk" to the government is that they give you a stimulus check based on your 2007 earnings, and then in 2008 you make a bunch more money than you did in 07 which would make you ineligible for the stimulus cut, rebate, whatever. That risk will be countered by the fact that you will have to pay it back net April because the extra money will fall in the higher bracket. BTW: you do realize that the numbers in the tax tables that we got this year had the lower rates in it to compensate for the stimulus checks we got last year, right? Next April's tables will have the adjustments in them for this round of cuts.

Ok... I'm done with this thread. None of us will ever agree. None of us actually understand the entire tax code. And more important, we aren't talking about BOATING!!! I officially surrender.

Have a great day everybody!

1. you didn't get a stimulus check last year. If you got a check it was for the excess withholding you gave them.
2. the stimulus check you get this year is not taxable. Next spring it will have no effect.
3. you continue to confuse tax refunds with this stimulus payment.

I don't know. Is he civil service? They seem to be the ones who specialize on doing nothing.

Gee Frank, since my wife and I are both civil service, I guess we are really good at doing nothing, huh?

Think you might want to consider re-phasing that?

Sorry about that, but my wife and I have spent the last 2 months fighting with the civil "servants" here in town to take care of a few minor issues that they screwed up and it's still has me steamed. Plus, I'm in NJ which is, the first or second most corrupt state in the nation. Here they have civil servants who do nothing and bring on outside contractors to actually do the work. You have no idea what the system is like here. I should have not painted such a wide swath. Mea Culpa.

Best regards,
Frank

The cuts should come from the congressman, the millionaire class you know the real rich. Come on, 15,000.00 a month pension for life, after even only working for 1 year. Yea they really need it.

I stand corrected. I just got an email from a friend, stating the above. I read your info and will share it with my friend to set him straight.

Thanks,

why can't we all just get along???

(and get back to ragging on the build-quality of rinkers!)

I think it is very ironic that we all seem to be working very hard so someday we can do nothing.

Yes, and once you get to where you don't have to do anything it becomes work to keep yourself from boredoom. I've beem retired for over 10 years and now am thinking of going back to work. Maybe I can deliver pizza, I think those guys make good tips.

And you'll get to eat a lot of pizza for free.
