Tabman- I need help!

Tab man need your advice. After looking at other post. And info from others I need to in large my tabs. Seems like they are way under sized from the start . 96' 270 7.4-B3 . The tabs are 10 1/2 "90 deg bent up x 12" . I seen on a chart should have at least 24" ? Your suggestion please. Thanks

Duckmnn,

It really depends on the space you have available on your transom. Fitting larger Trim Tabs will certainly provide you with better performance. Is there any way you can post a photo of your transom and existing Trim Tabs? That would really help in recommending the best option for you.

Tabman sorry havnt had a chance to load pics .What I did do after looking at photos on this site. I ended up having some ss tabs made 1'x 20" with 2" drop fins and they are 11 gauge. I then took and cut the corners off for clearance. I bolted them to tabs on boat. They work killer can't believe how much they work. Also even at no wake speeds with them down boat goes straight as arrow. I did notice something though. Port ram I seen would move down by hand an inch.but then suck right back up.That was during mounting new tabs I noticed. what do you think? Thanks steve

Steve,

It sounds like the valve seat for that side is damaged or fouled allowing the fluid to bypass back into the reservoir. If you send me your name and address in a private message I will be delighted to send you new valve seats and instructions how to change them.
