Table Rock Lake

Looked at the lake levels today with all the flooding in St. Louis and WOW! The lake level went up 18' over 2 days. That is crazy. And that is with the gates open and fulll generating.

18 feet.....how crazy is that. It looks like we will be starting the spring with a high lake level. I hope we don't have really rainy spring. Our marina sent out pics of the docks. There is no access. When the lake hits around 921,the water is in the parking lot. At least it's not boating season

Fortunately, our access is made easier when the lake is high (smaller hill to climb when coming up from the boat). But I imagine there are all kinds of floating obsticles to enjoy.

Went to the boat show Saturday. Very small. Kind of depressing really. For some reason they decided to have one in downtown St. Louis and one in St. Charles on the same weekend. We went downtown, so I don't know what the St. Charles show looked like. I was really looking forward to seeing the new 280 SLX. Based on what I saw, we'll be keeping the 270 for awhile unless we switch brands. Sea Ray is going in an interesting direction with the sport boat line. Less and less storage. Carpeting in the under seat storage compartments - mine are gel coated. They have decreased the size of the ski lockers to the point that they aren't long enough to hold skis. Not sure where they are going with storage. The new helms are really cool though.

We haven't been to the STL show for a couple of years...but I thought it was kind of small also. Gel coat seems to make better since under the seats..you know they will probably get wet. I dewinterized on March 6th last year. It wont be that early this year, but I am getting the itch.

Living in stl I went to both shows. St Charles 1/3 the size of stl. Wish they were like they used to be. Dewinterizing 3rd week of march

We were down at the lake with friends the first weekend in October to celebrate birthdays. Went for a cruise to Kimberling City and stumbled upon The Rocks restaurant and bar. Docked and went up for lunch. Good food and a cool place. Will be a good summer dinner stop.

Well, a year after l had to shut down the trucking company I was running due to my partners' incompetence, I finally have another job. I start a job tomorrow as a consultant for an accounting firm. Kind of a "CFO in a box" type job. Can finally afford to start boating again. Not that that stopped us before, but I no longer have to worry every time I fill the tank.

We have had a weird year. After 13 years of starting every boating day pulling a tube, my kids, their friends and my nieces no longer have any interest. Here we are well into July and we have not had a tube on the boat once this year. All they want to do is cruise and anchor out. Oh, and drink....that might have something to do with it. I pulled my wife on skis last weekend and that is the only water sport of the year. They do still use the jet ski though. It has been a very abrupt change. I save a lot on gas that way though. Pulling a tube or two is not very fuel efficient.
