Table Rock Lake

Hey kurt, did you make it off of the lakw before the storm came through. I'm not sure if it went over the lake, but we left about 5pm or so, and right when we got to our house in Ozark, it started to hail on us. I have several dents in my hood now. Oh well, at least it was nice while on the lake. Oh, and sorry if we woke you up Sunday.

Hey Jeff,
Wow can't believe you guys still have water that high. Ouachita has gone down, but still not down to normal pool. We missed our big Memorial Day on the lake, had to be in Florida for a high school graduation, can you believe they scheduled graduation on the first big holiday weekend of the year!

Our lake has been suffering from wind as well. Seems winds are from any direction at 5-15mph gusting up to 25mph. Oh well, in August we'll be praying for a breeze!!!

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Stan

Stan....all have been well...except a little soggy. The lake level is still high, but is veeeerrry slowly coming down. We can finally walk onto the dock...which is so nice not having to take a pontoon out to the dock. Post some pics when you get your new electronics installed.

Sunday was fantasic we sat in cow creek until 6pm and never saw so much as a cloud. When I got home in south Springfield, I had some limbs down so it was suspect of bad weather I missed.
You didn't wake me Sunday. I can't hardly hear anything with it buttoned up. I get up at 5am and take the dog ashore then pop a movie in and go back to bed. I have a AC unit coming this week so I might never come out until the sun is out. See ya this weekend, K

Did you dock next to me Sat night? I thought that was your boat, but I did not get a very good look at your boat when we saw you. The one next to us had a naked only sticker near the back seat. how far is it to cow creek? I know where it is on land, but I am still finding my wat on the water. Isnt it before you go around the right hand corner before you get to the chateu? I dont remember any big coves there.

We will be back down there sat afternoon and sunday. I have to try an ugly white tux on sat. morning for my sisters wedding. I think my sis will go out with us sat since they are up from texas. Hope to see you all down there.

I've been away form here for a while, but we were on Tablerock all last week with a group of about 20 boats.

A bunch of us went through Cow Creek Saturday afternoon after being tied up on the cove to the east most of the day. It was an awesome day. Actually, except for the 2 days we got a little rain, it was great.

I was amazed at how high it was. Last time I was there was in '05. I wanted to duck every time we went under the bridge at Kimberling!

We probably ran close to 200 miles all week. I filled up at the Conoco on 13 at DD when we first got there then topped off at Indian Point and was surprised fuel wasn't more $$$. Of course topping off at about $120 and watching my buddy "top off" at about $450 made me feel better. :D

If anyone was out and about and saw a group including a few Nordic's, bunch of Crownlines and a few loners like a Cobalt, big 28' Rinker and my Searay, that was us.

We even made it up to Shell Nob and flipped the Pizza Hut out as we walked in with about 50 people right after a group of 18 walked out. We know now, call ahead and warn them! :smt043

You guys are absolutely blessed to have Tablerock to call your home lake!!!

Sea Ray Jim: I saw your group and talked to them. They were past the big SunSeeker(My favorite, it has a GARAGE), There was a Cobalt, and a Crownline when I saw them, both couples.
Eric, that was my boat at the high and dry. Here is a map.
http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/parks/tablerock/pdf/tr_lake_map3.pdf

Cow creek is South by East of POK. I think 190 degrees South by Southwest once on the main channel. Hit Point 6 then head on back, way back to the end.

Kurt...since you are in high and dry, are there slips you can use during the weekend, so you can sleep on your boat? Just curious, I wasnt sure how the high and dry worked.

Yep there are about 10 or so covered slips you can park in unless it gets filled up with open bow boats with covers on them. There are several of us cruisers who use high and dry and stay in the covered slips over the weekend. There are 28 foot slips that will have 20 foot boats in them so it is a little irritating. I tried renting some overnight slips from State Park etc. but none were covered. Next year without a doubt I will be moving down the lake toward you.

Sorry Kurt, I figured I should use the covered slip to stay out of the way of the main dock since it seems to be used alot more. Also I am still not the best at putting the boat into the slip, so I dont like to pull in the double slips where I could hit someone elses boat. I just looked for the easiest slip, and pulled in. I guess I could use the covered slip to the left. We will most likely not cover the boat anymore when we leave out. We just had alot of stuff on the boat, and I feel better with it covered.

Trust me this was not directed toward you. I have been a customer at high and dry for 4 years and have sent them many customers. Each year they tell us they are going to reserve big slips the for big boats but it never happens. The large covered slips they have available will get filled with small open bow boats that are left out because people are too lazy to put their boat away. My boat will not fit in 2/3 of the stalls at high and dry. So when I see a 18 foot boat in a 28 foot stall it is a little annoying. I have tried to rent empty slips on the large docks from them and they won't let you. I prefer the high and dry because you boat is always clean and you just don't have to worry about it all winter long being outside or your lift failing. But like I said this is my last year at POK. Please take no offense as I meant no direction toward you this is a on going issue me and a few others have had. Next time you are out let's meet and talk!

Alright. are you usually at cow creek? If so we will swing by and chat. If you dont see us, we will be either way back in POK, or Mill creek. We are usually in the cove where the road to the dock is straight up and down. If you have ever seen it, you know what I am talking about.

sea ray sport,

Were you at mill creek a couple of weekends ago? I was trying to anchor and floated by a boat just like yours (much to my dismay) There was a red and white FourWinns tied up with us, then an older MACH1 on the other side.

Were you on a pontoon? Last week was the first time we have been out this year. We saw a pontoon that could not get the anchor to hold, and another boat came up later, and the pontoon ties up with them. We left shortly after to get a bite at big buoys.

nope we were in the cruiser. I do have some friends that have a pontoon but we find it to be a pain in the butt to tie up together, doesn't mean we don't give it a try.

We must have missed you.

"Suggies" big 30th birthday today so we are going down and cruising to Big Ceder to eat, then make some friend stops. Planning on Cow Creek at 1200 Saturday. Should be "Business as usual" as the bar is open, as I own the best bar on the lake.

Kurt....tell the first mate Happy Birthday....geez 30....I almost cant remember that far back....have fun....not sure if we will be down this weekend or not. My wife and oldest daughter are in Spain...so I was thinking about going to the boat tonight with my youngest daughter....then neighbors called for her to babysit until midnight tonight.....

Looks like the water has gone down a little. We were at it Saturday and Sunday. Kurt, I went by cow creek Sat around 2pm, but did not see your boat. I also went over to mill creek, and of course OMR. Kurt I did see you Sunday. We were right behind you when you pulled into get gas around 1pm or so. I had my mother-in-law, neice, and nephew with me so my nerves were shot or I would have stoped by.

I dont think I seen anyone else. It was a good weekend even with the rain here and there. I finally figured out the lake fishing and caught 5 really nice bass, only it took us from 7am to 5pm to catch them. If we would not have had the extra guest, it would have been great. How many of you will be there for the 4th? I would like to tie up to someon for the fireworks because we cant anchor that deep very well.

Eric we just got back home a couple of hours ago!! how the time flies when you have no watch. We were in the Mill Creek area Saturday tied up with a Rinker a Four Wins and two pontoons on the end. We will be there the entire fourth weekend and I am sure we will have our little flotilla going. We are going to try to tie up on the Mill Creek side of the bridge just past the campground toward the bridge. (at least I think that is the plan for now) You are of course more than welcome to tie up with us, if you can stand kids and dogs and loud (but friendly) boaters.)
