That I understand. I spent some time at Mizzou. Had a lot of female friends that married and stayed in Columbia. Sucks to have them in a different city, but at least it isn't too far. I have only heard good things about Drury. Beautiful campus. Good soccer program. A bit pricey though. It would have been better for my bank account if he joined his brother at Mo. State.....

I am going to be at the lake starting Monday for the week. Weather looks awesome until Friday, then it gets iffy. I'll take what I can get. Probably need to put in a new battery and look into the transducer issue. And looking at the lake levels, I'll be dodging debris the whole time.

Sounds like grest weather this week....I would be interested in how much debris is floating.

Friday was a washout, but the weather was great besides that. Not nearly as much debris as I expected until I went south of the 86 bridge. Big timber floating over there.

We went to Stockton on Sat and had a great time. The lake was smooth, with very little wind, and not too many boats out.

How is everyone enjoying the abundant water?

We have been in Florida the last 2 weekends,so haven't got to enjoy it. We did get to enjoy it 3 weekends ago...NOT! We had to wade in the water getting off the dock on Sunday. The lake came up about 3 feet over that weekend.

Yeah, dock access is an issue. One of the State Park guys told me they are shuttling people from the upper parking lots to a staging area in golf carts then from there to the docks in pontoons. Emerald Pointe has chosen not to pull the dock in, like in 2010, but to build a 50 foot floating walkway out of 2x10s three wide. They get slippery when wet. How do I know? Slipped and my choice was go in the lake with my phone or land on my ass on the walkway. I chose the latter and my back has been killing me ever since. Saved my phone and my post docking beer though...

Tim....good to hear you sacrificed the body to save your beer:grin:

We are going this weekend...probably Thursday night.

Hope your back starts feeling better. Will you get down much in the fall?

Thanks Jeff. Yes, after 6 years of high school football and soccer keeping us in St. Louis after Labor Day, we will finally be able to start fall boating again. Drury's home soccer games are Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. That gives us Saturdays to take our sons and their friends out on the lake. I am looking forward to that. The fall was always my favorite time to be down there.

How about you?

We went to Big Cedar late Sunday afternoon. I thought it appropriate to be at the lake on Monday since it was Columbus day. Great weather. I will have boat winterized in early November. I hope to get another weekend or so.

Iam scheduled to be winterized the 1st week of November . I still need to change my oil before then. I bought new spark plugs, but I think I will wait until spring to replace them.

Oil changed and everything is winterized. Sad day. But we got out on the lake Saturday afternoon. Just puttered around looking at houses. Went back into a cove we had never been in just south of the jumping rock. Found some submerged timber in between their docks. Fortunately we were only at idle, the bow rode up on the tree and slid off to the side. Very weird feeling.

Jeff - do you work at the giant government facility off of the Kansas Expressway? Beautiful grounds. My son at Mo. State is renting a house about 1/2 mile north behind a big apartment complex.

Tim...yes that is where I work....24 years The prison opened in 1933.

My daughter lived in an apartment complex at the corner of Bennett and Kansas Expy last year.

I got the oil changed and we are now winterized.

I was up in your neck of the woods this weekend. I brought my mom up to see my grandma. We stayed at the wildwood hotel on Sunday night.

So you're the one that stays at the Wildwood Hotel. I was wondering who was. That is about 2 miles from my house.

We have adopted The Roost as our take the kids out to dinner when in Springfield spot. Decent food and cheap drinks. Since my oldest turned 21 taking him out to dinner is much more expensive.

24 years is impressive. My longest stint is 6.
