Table Rock Lake

Jeff, I did not keep the same name. The 280 is named "Shuggi Ray", I have always called Jennifer- Shuggi so it seemed like a match. I think our slip is the same as before 12 x 30, it sticks out a bit but I am going to have Scott make me a "boot" for the bow to bunggi on. We will be out this weekend, looking forward to the "flock on the rock".

What is the news for Aquapalooza this year? I have heard it is up at the tiki bar on land and the band starts at 7pm-10pm. Is everyone still going to cove out in Rock Lane cove or what has everyone heard?

Jeff, I saw that you were on the lake recently in another thread. How's the water? Debris? I looked at the level and saw it is up about 4 feet since the beginning of the year, at 914. Hopefully we can keep a full pool this year. Can't wait to start the season. MM is doing all the manitanence that I defered during my unemployed days.

On another note, my oldest graduates in May and will be going to Mo. State in the fall. That gives me more of an excuse to get to the lake during the fall. That, and we don't have to worry about him having a football game every Friday night from late August to late October like we have the last 4 years. Soccer games are all during the week, so the youngest's schedule won't be a problem. I love fall boating and I've missed it a lot!

Tim...we have been out the past couple of weekends. Yesterday, the water was extremely clear and beautiful. I am not sure why it is so clear now, but there probably was 10 or 12 feet visibilty. There is not really any debris in the water(although I did see small log around the dock). We have had some really nice rains recently, and hopefully will not get any major downpours that put the lake into flood stage. My youngest will also be going to MSU this fall.

Dewinterize and service next week, should be up and running soon. 50 hour weeks and school is killing me. I forgot what my boat even looks like!

We got out last weekend. Saturday was a perfect day. The water is still a little cool, but the kids I had with me had fun. Not much traffic on the lake. I took the kids to the jumping rock and there was no one there!

I'm still trying to get used to the fact that my oldest is going to college in August. He has always gone to the lake with us, but this summer he has been staying home to go to graduation parties. Life goes way too fast.

Anybody out there? We were down for the 4th. Awesome 4 days. Great weather and good fireworks at Big Cedar. We found a new place to anchor, very quiet and out of the way. And we only burned 65 gallons of gas.

I haven't been on the website too much recently. We have been a the lake quite a bit. We went down on Tuesday, the week of the 4th....and it was great weather. Were is your new cove. We are generally over by Chateau or across from Chateau, in Coombs Ferry.

Other side of the 86 bridge back in the cove down from the Bass Pro marina. The weather has been awesome. I just wish we could get down there more. Too much going on with graduation parties and getting ready for my oldest to start college. AND work is always getting in the way.

Tim...give me some info on your boat....cruising speed, WOT and fuel burn at each. Do you like the 8.1 in your size boat? My nephew is boat shopping for something in the 24-28ft range. Are twin engines an option on your boat?

Thanks...

Best cruise is 2900 rpm at about 31 MPH. Burn is about 19 GPH at cruise. WOT will bring 54 MPH at 30 GPH. Fuel burn was a concern for me going from the 350 Mag in our 240 to the 496. But, as it turns out, we consitently use less fuel than we did in the 240. I wouldn't have anything but the 496 in our boat. I have driven the 6.2 and it is adequate at cruise but the hole shot sucks. The 8.1 makes the boat a sports car. I belive twin 350s are an option, but not worth the cash. We love our 270.
