Table Rock Lake

hi everyone sounds like we all had a great weekend. I think I spotted you Kurt, but I couldn't remember the name of your boat. Ours is still LUNA SEA, my hubby has yet to design and change our name. The winds were wicked on Sunday, but we managed to have a great time, we were over in Mill Creek. Quite a ways back.

Hope every one has a great week, see ya on the water this weekend.

We are finally going to get the boat wet this weekend. I decided work will just have to wait. I cant believe we have not yet been on the lake this year. We will either put in at Mill creek, or might go ahead and start using the high and dry. Either way we will be in the Kimberling area Sat. Any of you going to the MM thing this weekend? I doubt we will this time since it will be our first trip this year. We will probably just hang out all day.

We also doubt going to the "MM thing" poor timing being fathers day I suppose but you never know. I do believe POK is open for put in but I am not sure about Mill Creek. Forecast for the weekend looks good so far.

I don't think we will be going to the Pirates of Table Rock on Sunday....I have to take my wife and oldest daughter to the airport early on Monday morning.

I had forgotten about the MM thing this weekend. I guess we aren't officially going. We will be down this weekend though. We are at POK and they are launching over by BigBouys cafe. It hasn't been really busy launching from there. We put our SeaDoo in there and haven't had to wait for more than one boat in front of us.

Jeff, I hope they have a great time on their trip. What a great adventure. Here's to their happy and safe travels.

Jeff,
How did you get left out of that trip:huh:? That just ain't right:lol:.

No MM pirate deal for us. I'm driving my boys to Farmington for week long Boy Scout camp on Sunday. Somebody wasn't thinking when they planned that:smt009.

I called the high and dry today, and it looks like we are going to go ahead and leave the boat there. I cant wait to not have to trailor the boat 45 miles to the lake every weekend. Does any one know if they have BBQ grills around the high and dry for public use? We used to go to state parl and use their grill, but I think the docks are probably under water.

Oh and I think after a year and a half we may have decided on a boat name. I was thinking Wet Dream. Fitting since I have only been able to dream about the lake all year.

The high and dry should be great...you wont have to wait at the launch ramp. I think Kurt...another member here, keeps his boat in the high and dry.

We haven't been able to get our boat out of the slip yet since our dock is pulled up "in the woods" still. Since the lake level is finally going down a little we have hopes of actually boating soon! Our dock is in Aunt's Creek and we have to be able to get under the Kimberling City bridge to get to What's Up Doc Marina. Is that doable yet? Thanks!

Peggy

Peggy....I have hot been under the Kimberling City bridge this year...but another member here, Drama Queen, I think has posted they have gone under the bridge...so you should be able to get to the gas dock. The water really seems to be fairly clear of floating debris, but as windy as it has been...it has been pretty choppy. We have had to take pontoons out to our dock until last weekend...they added some ramp extensions, so we can know walk on the dock.

Thanks Jeff! I'm not too concerned about getting to the gas dock...but getting to the pump out is high on my list if we're going to be able use the boat!

We're in a private two slip dock shared with a young man who is paraplegic. We've pulled the dock in as far as possible so that he can access it via his ATV and then transfer to his fishing boat. Right now we have either a very tall bush or a short tree right in front of our bow. We could probably get out of the slip but we have to back in and that requires a little more maneuvering room! It's hard to believe that the lake level has remained so high for so long! Never would have guessed that!

I am not sure if you guys got as much rain as we did today, but I doubt it will help the lake level. Do any of you fish? I grew up fishing ponds and creeks, so I have yet to catch a bass at the lake. It is a whole different game. The fishermen dont like to help people out either. They all seem pretty stuck up from what I have seen. From the way they drive and cut you off to just asking for advice. I guess they just had not caught anything the day I was talking with them and were grumpy.

Eric, we've had well over two inches just today so yes, we're getting a lot of rain here in Springfield too. So far, the Corps of Engineers has managed to hold the lake at it's current low level of 927. I have a link to their measurment/generating site and check it several times a day.

We haven't had your experiences with fishermen in our area. Our dock is in a quiet cove and we get a lot of fishing boats coming in and they're always very friendly and willing to visit.

Hey Jeff,
Wow can't believe you guys still have water that high. Ouachita has gone down, but still not down to normal pool. We missed our big Memorial Day on the lake, had to be in Florida for a high school graduation, can you believe they scheduled graduation on the first big holiday weekend of the year!

Our lake has been suffering from wind as well. Seems winds are from any direction at 5-15mph gusting up to 25mph. Oh well, in August we'll be praying for a breeze!!!

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Stan

I just saw the news, and we have had almost 5 inches today putting us almost 18 inches above the anual average for the year. It looks like more rain all next week too. Atleast tomorrow is still looking good though.

In response to Sea Ray Sport, I would think you have to a camp site to grill out. There is only a parking lot and a single bathroom at the dry dock. We just bring food and stay on the boat or eat at Big Buoy's, it is on the north side of What's up Dock.

Peggy, I have been able to get under the bridge since 2nd weekend of May and my boat is similar in size and height. Trust me you can make it.

Hi Peggy,

Sorry I posted earlier, but I think the rain was tampering with my DSL line. We have been making it under the bridge with about 3 to 4 foot clearance. A little nerve racking but I just close my eyes until we are under. I usually make the hubby drive under the bridge. This weekend I will be on my own though, hubby is out of town for work :( Now who is going to drive under the bridge?

Hopefully, we will not see the lake go up again with all this rain. I heard Branson didn't get the rain like we did here. I don't know what flows into what though.
