Table Rock Lake Missouri

The Captain and I have been reading the CSR site for some time and I thought it time we at least registered and added our names to the roster! The Captain is not big on posting to boards but I may chime in from time to time.

We've always had a boat of some sort in our 41 years of marriage. We began with small fishing boats and when my back couldn't handle those any more I told the Captain that he'd have to continue on his own. That's when we moved up in boat size. :smt038

We purchased a 1988 SR Cuddy Cabin 250 in Spring 2002. We had a Prestige trailer built for it and towed the boat the first year or so. Got a slip at the lake in late 2003 to eliminate the stress of towing, etc. The Captain enjoyed overnighting on the boat but the lack of water and the "head" residing under the bed became less than ideal for me. That's when we moved up in boat size...again.

We sold the CC in March 2005 and planned to be boatless for a couple of years or so to see if we missed it. We lasted two months before we were shopping for another boat! Found our 1996 270 Sundancer with less than 100 hours on her in July at Port Arrowhead Marine at Lake of the Ozarks. We had the boat delivered to Table Rock the end of July.

We are in a two slip private dock on the Aunt's Creek arm of the lake. For those of you not familiar with Table Rock Lake, it has approximately 900 miles of shoreline. We can travel by boat over 100 miles in several directions by lake and can and do cruise to Arkansas at least once a year, which is about a 65 mile cruise one way for us. Table Rock Lake is a Corp of Engineer controlled lake and in spite of their sometimes goofy rules they do keep Table Rock Lake a pristine and very natural lake enjoyed by boaters year round.

The Captain and I have two grown children (they're twins) and they've given us 5 grandchildren with 1 more on the way this Fall. We enjoy having them all share in our boating activities...just not every weekend! Dave works for the local utility company and has been eligible to retire for several years but he enjoys his work and isn't ready yet. I've always heard that retirement from a woman's point of view means "Twice as much husband and half as much money" so I'm not pushing too hard in that direction...yet. He takes Mondays off so we get a long weekend every weekend.

We've already learned a lot from the very sharing and knowledgeable folks on this site and must say thanks for that! I'll try to get some photos added to our profile soon.

Happy Boating!
Peggy (I guess I'm supposed to be the Admiral according to what I've read on this site but I function more as the First Mate! The 15 pound Daschund/Jack Russell mix female dog who accompanies us is too spoiled to be of much help.)

Welcome to the board!!! Good to here from another Missouri boater!

Welcome to the board....great to have another Table Rock boater...

Welcome to the board and may you have at least another 40 years to enjoy boating.

Welcome Aboard  . Post some pic of your boat in the virtual marina :smt024 .

Peggy and Dave,

Good to have you aboard. Your boat looks like a twin to mine, same teal color, it appears. I am on the Columbia River in eastern Oregon, but my boat lives in my shop when not boating. I am retired from a utility company. As my boss, who retired before me, says, retirement means you don't get weekends off.

And somewhere here on the board there is a mid-90's 270DA thread that I started for boats like ours.

Happy boating!
