We have a 2000 Sea Ray 420 AC. Occasionally we receive a "Pump Alarm Forward Emergency" alarm on the Sea Ray Systems Monitor. As far as we can tell we do not have any water in the bilge, but have no idea what pump it is referring to. Have tried to force alarm with various sump pumps to no avail. Does anyone know what this alarm means and where the pump is that is being referred to?

On my 400DB that alarm is tied to the pump that is outside of the shower sump. You should have a pump inside the shower sump for pumping that water out. And another pump outside that which is an emergency pump used in case the sump overflows or any other water gets into the cabin area in front of the engine room bulkhead. Our boats are similar, that pump on mine is accessed by removing the panels under the port stateroom inward bunk.

I just recently had that same alarm this past weekend on my 400DB. Is the alarm to tell you that the pump has been activated? Seems like it would light up when on but sound alarm if there is something wrong with it.

If the pump has been activating, it seems like the only potential water source up there is the gray water sump. I did notice standing water in the sump and what seemed like a sticky float switch inside. But got the alarm when no water was running...and would assume you need a lot of water to activate the float switch. Any other sources for water intrusion up there?

If there is a pump activating an alarm it is probably not a pump that should normally be cycling ( such as the high water bilge pump in the engine room. The switches mounted at the different heights usually keeps the higher pump from coming on unless there is such a high amount that it activates the second switch and usually an ALARM as well.)

There is a pump in my salon floor that activates the alarm panel because under all normal circumstances there is no water there unless there is a failure somewhere forward.
