I looked but cant find what im looking for.i have a 1985 sea ray cc with 350 magnum and i want to know if using synthetic oil will be ok :smt024

Search for an oil thread jimbow912. I use merCruiser 25w40 in my 350. I use Delo 15w40 in my 454. Straight 30w is fine also in MA. Everyone has an opinion on this topic, Mike.

Synthetic oil is not going to hurt your engine, and in some rare cases may really really help. We can debate the relative values of various oil formulations but the undisputed fact is that regular changes are probably the most important factor in the oil equation.

Go to http://www.amsoil.com/ and look around the website. There is a phone number you may call and ask for help, they are very helpful and pleasant on the telephone explaining their products. I use Amsoil synthetic for marine engines and use it in my vehicles everything that can use oil and love it. I think I am getting better engine protection because it seems the engines are running with less friction which means less wear, better fuel consumtion, cooler engine temps, longer engine life.
My current boat is a 2006 250 Sundancer with a 6.2L mercruiser sterndrive. Good luck!
