Synthetic oil in generator?

Would there be and harm / benefit in using Mobil 1 0-40 in my Kohler 5E generator?

It takes less than two quarts to fill so the price isn't a problem.

We live in Vegas so it's very hot right now and the gen runs all night.

Thanks - the manual calls for 40 grade at our temps

That is exactly what I used, also used on the main engines.
