There are 4 or 5 screws thru the top cover hinge into the platform, that are now loose. The top cover is not secure. They are not bolts but more like wood screws. I need to pull off the cover and rebed the screw holes. I was planning to use some Marine epoxy but not sure how to get the epoxy deep into the old holes. Then redrill holes. Or maybe I need to see if I can make new holes thru the hinge and screw into a fresh area. I wish I could bolt them but see no way to drill thru the other end. Has anyone resolved this issue?

I have the exact same issue...I know this unanswered thread is old but I am looking for recommendations now.

Thanks in advance.

have you found the epoxy to hold the new screws ok post fix?

If you want to be sure it will hold, drill it out a bit larger, then make a paste with small snippings of fiberglass mat and epoxy and use that to fill the holes. Then drill new smaller holes for the screws.

Or drill all the way thru and use nylon locking nuts.

Or drill larger with larger screws as mentioned and bed with 5200 fast cure. Put the 5200 on the threads and clean up with mineral spirits.
