I'm looking for a used swim platform. Any idea where to find one?

thanks, i requested a quote for a new one. Anyone have an idea about a used one?

I just made one for my 94 290da.

I'd LOVE to see the pictures! I got a quote from swimplatforms for my 300 DA and it was around $2,300. I'd go from a 22 inch platform to a 39 inch platform. That's great, but I'm having a hard time justifying $2,300 for the additional 17 inches!

I went another route.I did two sheets of 3/4" King Starboard glue'd and screwed.Six SS pole braces underneath.8 SS Thru-bolts to the transom and 6 thru-bolts up through the factory deck.3 sections of 2" aluminum angle to support the weight on the transom. It's tight in there but you can get it.I tore my hands up but that's a small price to pay.All good grade SS screws.Putting the two sheets together was a bear. You had to pre drill and then split it and level the holes so it would lay flat. Then 5200 putty knifed as thin as you can imagine.I then routered the edge and that was about it.I had 7 people on it a couple weekends ago and it never budged.Unlike the fiberglass ones that will flex.I've got about $800 into it with the SS ladder and two days of working on it.You could do it in a day with two people. The startboard is HEAVY but it feels nice on your feet.I happened to find a plastic dealer that sold me two sheets for $250 each and they where diamond textured already.I would prefer to just have one 1.5" sheet next time but they are BIG dollars for that size.$1k range.

I actually still have the template.

That looks great! You just need to get some of the Sea Ray cut outs and it would look like a factory installation! That is impressive! How wide were the sheets and why so many screws? I'm not saying I wouldn't have put MORE in, but I see your point about getting the 1.5" stuff! I didn't even know they have diamond tread pattern? Nice job!

That looks good - does the boat handle any differently with it on? Getting onto plane, etc? What ladder is that?

The boat doesn't really notice it....when coming off plane quickly or turning at slower planing speeds the deck will dip in the water.I can imagine how bad that swimplatform.com one would catch. This deck has to be about 200-250lbs total. The sheets are 4'x8' but they are over sized.I used almost all of it.The deck is extremely strong when put together but it needs to be supported in the right spots. If I where to run another 1" angle at the pole support line it would increase the rigidty even more and add no more weight.

What are we talking about when you say Sea-ray cut-outs?

I went thru 150 SS screws. That includes transom lowers which can not be thru-bolted.

The ladder is a 2-step but it is wide 2-step Windline model. The thru-bolts for it are the only ones visible.Too much down pressure for me to be comfy just screwing it in.

I have one in great condition, made by swimplatforms.com. I just removed it from my 30 ft Searay, check my post on this dig..

I have a teak swim platform im trying to get rid of, make offer...its in great condition, needs a light sanding and new teak oil - will look new. I have custom brackets for it, they are heavy duty. 21 x 87.5...Im located in Tarpon Springs, Fl.
