I have a 1988 Sea Ray 300 Sundancer with a fiberglass swim platform. A 8 inch piece of the edge is broken off. what is the best way to repair the edge?

I don't have the answer, but I'll ask the $64K question: got pics? That probably will help those who do know about fiberglass repair.

I will take pictures and post. How do upload picture?
If you use an online photo sharing tool like photobucket, load the pictures there and then put the link in a post here; I usually just copy/paste but there's a "hyperlink" icon in the toolbar, too. That's the easiest way since you don't have to worry about file size.

If you don't have or want an online photo sharing tool, use the "insert image" icon in the toolbar; it will tell you if the file is too big when you try to finish uploading, and you'll have to resize it/them. I can't remember the max file size, but I think it varies based on membership level, anyway.

Do a search on my screen name and you will see a thread where I rebuilt, re-cored and re gelcoated my platform. I put some TACO rub rail on the edge when done for added protection and for a finished look.
Sounds like you will need to grind down the area and lay in glass fabric and rebuild the bad area.

I really like the TACO edge material. Really helps make the edge look finished and future protection.
