After using our boat this weekend it displayed the following on the smart craft: TPS = Throttle Position Sensor not working call dealership.

It was making a beeping noise but the engine kept running. It did it maybe 5 times.

Has this happened to anybody? Is this a big job? The boat is a 2007 with 52 hrs.

Thanks for your help
Jason

I had the TPS replaced and the IAC Valve. They can't figure out what is wrong with the boat. After running for about 20 minutes the engine alarm will sound while the boat is at around 1100 rpm. If I get the speed/rpm up I have no problem. Anyone have any ideas? Most of the time nothing comes up on the smart craft. Yesterday it came up wit the TPS again for the 2nd time. TPS and IAC valve replaced today. The marina hooked it up to diagnostics and nothing comes up, same thing when Marine Max looked at it.

Water pressure problem? I really don't know. But, it sounds like you've got two mechanics on the job so you should be in good hands.

The throttle Position Sensor was replaced and, according to the marina, is performing perfectly. I am going to take out the boat tomorrow, can't wait. I wanted to let everyone know that Mercury replaced the parts for free, even though the engine has been out of warranty for 2 months.

That's good news! Thanks for posting your results.
