Hi, Sea Ray folks. I'm new in the Sea Ray Club. I have just bought a 2007 Sea Ray Sundeck 200 with 5.0L Alpha 1 drive and I am completely in love with this boat.
The first time out the after about 1 hour on the water her gages went dead as well as the Smart System Speedometer LCD. All other powered systems worked ok so I wasn't stranded. Has this happened to any one else or maybe a Sea Ray bulletin issued? I haven't looked at the fuse panel or checked anything out. Thought I'd ask the pros first.

I had the same thing happen on my 2005 Sundeck 200. Problem was a defective wiring harness. If you do a search you can find some references. I opted to have it repaired by the marina (Smith Boys - Tonawanda) where I store my boat since I don't have the time to mess with it during the week.

When it happened its was very disconcerting as I had a full load of passengers tubing on one of the few hot days of Summer we had in Buffalo, NY.

Good luck with your repair.

Try the stand-a-lone breaker by the battery. I *think* that's the circuit it controls.

It happened to me. Try removing the in-line blade fuse on the top of your battery. Keep it out for 60 secondes. Reinsert it.

who did you deal with at Smith Boys I may call them,

After I check all the circuts and fuses. thanks

I checked all the fuses, the battery 50amp breaker was set off, restored most of the lights, bildge and blowers but still no gages or starter. there is another 50 amp breaker above the engine (red button) is this one a one time only? a small green lever drops down when the red button is pushed. Canit it be reset like the battery breaker?

I finally took her to Smith Boys Marine, they were mobbed with end of season work. It was Nov 2nd when I got an appt. were are having warm weather for western NY, 69 degrees today. The 50 amp breaker above the engine (the red button job) was defective and they expidited the part and installed it within 3 days so I could get her into storage before the snow flies. They said they had never see this type of breaker fail like this one did. Looks like I'm ready for spring 2010. Thanks everyone for your comments and help.

Thanks for the update!

That is certainly weird that that particular breaker was bad. I can't remember the last time I've heard about that breaker going bad.

Oh well, it's good you got it resolved now, so you're ready to go in the Spring.:smt001

Dennis, This particular breaker would not manually reset the small lever that pops out wouldn't stay in the body of the breaker. That should have been a tell tale sign to me it was defective. If this was an older SeaRay I would have jumpered the wires to check it. This boat has an automotive Delpi type wiring harness and if you fry that its big bucks to replace, so the dealer had the first crack at it.
