Hi Guys,

In my previous boats I always have 2 batteries, one cranking battery and another deep cycle for my music amp, fish finder, air pump, etc. I always have them connected with one of the A/B switches, I believe "Perco " is the brand. Since I got my Sundeck 200 2006 about 3 weeks ago I been trying to figure out how to do it. I read a couple of times and even in the Owners Manual says do NOT USE the A/B switches because it can fry the computer etc. (Disappointing because the is the method I like more). I found that the boat has positive and negative cables in the very thick “like car” cable (I believe is 1/0 awg) and a 4awg positive as well that was connected to the same pole from factory. I assume the 1/0awg is my cranking power cable and the 4wag is my "house battery" cable so I connected them accordingly. Well, if I unplug the cranking cable from the battery nothing works, if I plug it back then everything works (all of this while I have the "house battery" connected. I check "continuity" with my voltmeter and both positives are not connected (which confirmed that they are for 2 different things. So, why the electronics are not working when the "house battery only" is connected? The boat always needs the cranking battery connected so it activates any type of circuit and then the house battery is the one that is going to be drained? Some sort of electric switch?

I appreciate any advice because this is driving me crazy, it will suck run out of battery while in the water just because they are not connected properly, or maybe they are connected fine and is just that I don’t know how they work, I don’t have a method right now to check which battery is draining.

Bump for some help!

Separate the 1 and 4. Switch should be 1 and 2, Both and off. Confirm that the 4ga. will power your acc.
