sundancer info

my wife are the proud owners of a 1980 v-197 sea ray that has been a really great boat for us, but, we have concluded that we need a boat that we can do comfortable overnights on and we are looking at 2 sea rays ...... both 1987 sundancers ..... one is a 270 with 2 260hp mercruisers and the other is a 250 with a single mercruiser ....... other than the obvious 2ft length and beam, what would the advantages be with the 270? and can anyone give me an idea about the fuel usage of the 270 ...... i'm thinking that 2 engines will suck gas really fast ...... thanks.

Go to boattest.com and do a review of two similar boats. The boats may be newer but it will give you comparable fuel consumption. In most cases it takes a certain gph to push a boat at a certain cruise speed whether it has one engine or 4 engines. So I doubt the 270 will burn much more fuel at the same speed, maybe only a couple of gallons per hour. Let us know what you find out!
