My 96 250 Sundancer has great drainage but I cannot find one drain..the cabin. This boat has carpet completely covering the cabin floor and search as I may I cannot find where water would drain out. Would you guess the drain has been covered by the carpet? I don't want to have to rip it up to find it..just want to know I have one and I don't have the proper manual. I have all I can get from SeaRay but they do not the the most specific manual..the supplement for this boat. I am trying to find one for $ on Ebay..but sold each time I find one.

If your cabin on any similar boat may have a hidden drain for the cabin could you please tell me about it? Surely there is one there somewhere. I'm ready to go at it with a power washer.

Thanks,
jb

There is no drain. But you should have a pump in the step down area (under your cabin step).

Omg..no drain.. rather a pump. I looked under there saw nothing. So I guess this means no power washing the cabin just scrub up and ventilate. Darn it..was hoping that area would drain. Having an older boat with no full manual is a chore. Whew.

Please allow me to rephrase..lets say I have six inches of water in the cabin..how does one get it out?

Or put it this way...does the cabin drain in any way?

I could be wrong on the stepdown pump - maybe that earlier 250DA didn't have it. But for the life of me, I was sure it did. Can you see any evidence that a pump used to be there? It would have been inside a plastic box and screwed to the floor. There would be some hoses, as well. Come to think of it, if you didn't have the stepdown pump, where would your shower floor drain to?

The only place that the cabin could drain would be to the bilge - but you can't have that because of gas fumes.

No, but your boat isn't really different from other Sundancers. They're pretty much all like that. You'd need to manually pump it out.

The shower drains to the bilge then pumped out as gray water. It has the kind of drain grill I would expect to find on the cabin floor. I see nothing..just carpet. Water has got to go somewhere..I can't believe the boat would say have rain water etc. in the cabin and just flood it and I cannot find it...like the lil aft cabin sleeper area..surely there is a way for water to drain if the tiny window under the lounge seat in the cock pit let rain in..but I can't figure it out. All lil cabin boats I've had, had a well with a drain to the bilge. I search and cannot find were the water would go.

You have to manually suck it up with a vac or drill a hole between the aft cabin step and cabin so the water goes and reaches pump

There are laws about having a sleeping area open/exposed to a bilge where gas fumes, etc may be present. You're 100% positive that the shower drains to the bilge? There isn't, by chance, a removable carpeted section under the step down? You're lifting the actual step and looking underneath it, right? I'm just surprised, that's all.

10/4 Get a wet vac..if I want to power wash..got it. Thanks...I was about to rip up the carpet to find the drain hole...so bottom line is..keep water from going into cabin. I was about to blast the carpet with a powerwasher with now I know..no place for the water to go...whew.

Yes..last step lifts..nothing but a trash receptical..no drain..no pump.

Then someone must have changed things around, or I am completely losing my mind. Grab the forward edge (toward the bow) of the first step that you would step onto when entering the cabin and lift. There should be a hinge along the aft edge of the step.

I do carry with me an emergency bilge pump I can plug in and pump out water to the deck drain just outside the cabin slide door.

Thanks y'all. I bound and determined to figure this boat out with so little documentation. Thanks so much for the message..give it up..the cabin does not drain. I would go crazy looking for a drain. Shower does drain..you would think just a foot away there would be another for the cabin..guess not. Got big plans for the little boat and have till spring to get her ready.

Oh also 10/4 on fumes back through the bilge to cabin from engine. My Cobia, an I/O did not seem to be under regs. and my Proline with cabin was an outboard so no problem with drain hole there. But..the shower, I'm pretty sure as with sinks goes to bilge for auto pump out once up a bit. I'll test everything again and go to plan B for cleaning tiny cabin. I have a carpet cleaner thing that sucks water up so it may help. Very exciting about my old boat and want to know it from stem to stern..such another learning process. Just did one..a 93 for fishing and the SeaRay will be my floating RV whilst on the island here. Thanks a bunch. I am tempted to drill a hole and put a grill on it to drain that cabin to bilge so I can blast it with a power washer. hehe maybe not.

Negative.

Oh yes..sorry that is a trash can as I was told. It has no drain or pump..nothing.
