So not to violate any rules or upset any sponsors on the board, where is good places that will get noticed for reviews of marine service providers that do a bad job etc?. Lots of places make it very difficult to get hold of somebody in upper management . Instead they just send you to customer service which means nothing .

You will get nowhere by posting negative reviews about any type service provider.... a) most people don't trust online reviews to begin with and, b) posting a negative review just makes you look like a jerk with an axe to grind.

Frank W. said it best in your other thread. There are ways work with providers that will yield results and there a lot of people here that can help you. Posting an email conversation between you and the service manager with the intent of making them look bad is not the way to get results.

Actually I disagree with you and your post actually make you look like a jerk when you don't know what you're talking about. But would like to thank some of the people who pm me with names of people to contact at Brunswick corporation. Btw for you so-called Internet customer service pros, you'll never guess what I do for a living . Let's just say since retiring from my company which was a independent retail hard and soft goods business I came back out of retirement to teach and help Small to large corporations improve their profits and retain customers by teaching customer service methods to them .

try THT - a lot of bitching goes on there.....much larger audience than here......not real friendly towards sea rays though.....

Thank you for a normal friendly response to my post, I'm also a member over there so I will post something About marine customer service

Information would be nice to know but how would you govern. Would any comments have an effect on present sponsor or future ones.I can understand why the administrator shy away from this type of post it would be a slippery slope at best.

You can think I'm a jerk all you want but you don't know me any better than I know your situation with your dealer. Online reviews cannot be trusted at all. I know a lot about online marketing and there are 3 main problems with online reviews.

1) Most reviews are paid for. There are marketing companies that pay users to post favorable reviews of products and services. Here's an example at brandleap.com. This place provides a "marketplace" for brands and "helps" with reviews. I'm sitting here with a free Fitbit and two brand new Epson printers because I posted positive reviews on Amazon, Best Buy and the manufacturers websites. The truth is, the Fitbit sucks and the printers are average.
2) 90% of legit reviews are from people who are disgruntled. For example, if you get a survey in your inbox after buying a home or refinancing your home, you will delete the email if everything went fine for you. Who wants to waste time on a survey when they got what they wanted? However, if your experience didn't meet your expectations, you will want to let everyone know and you will jump at the chance for a survey so you can shout it from the rooftops.
3) Most websites are a mutual promotion model. Sure, a few negative reviews are present but the site moderators delete most bad reviews because they don't want the advertisers to leave.

If you can figure out the magic formula for having a legit site that isn't just a b!tch-fest, or where the positive reviews aren't paid for, you will be a gazillionaire. Good luck, pal. You can think I'm a jerk but you sound like a crotchety old fart who can't construct a coherent sentence. Basic grammar and sentence structure goes a long way to building credibility.

If one tells a full story of what they wanted done and what got done one might tend to believe one. I wrote large contracts through out my life. You need to be very detail in what you want and what the service provider is to provide. Recently we have embarked on fixing up the house. To date we are into it for 140K. No problems with any supplier or contractor as they know what they are to supply. All the contractors and suppliers have commented "No one has ever done this to us before". They all have liked it as they know what they are to d or supply. Boat is different story if you do not provide details of what you have and what you want you may not get what you expect and it may cost you more than expected. Presently the people who look after our boat damage some areas while servicing it. Long discussion they said they would correct the problem. To this point they have not so I made an insurance claim. This seems to have started the process to correct the problem.
Bitching about bad service is like complaining about the government. It does no good.
As one nurse told me when I sprained my ankle on a radar station in the artic almost 50 years ago. "Suck it up and do your boot up tight". My response "YES MAM" She was a Major.

Yes, you must use proper grammar and sentence structure when doing false product reviews, it's great for 'credibility' while at the same time disguising the lack of ethics and honesty.

Ok, so I missed the original post so I'm not sure what it said but, don't we frequently share information about various companies on here? I know someone recently was looking to change insurance companies & I shared a negative experience that I had with my insurance company while at the same time voicing my intention of switching eventually. On that same thread someone else posted " Progressive sucks!!!!!!!!"
I didnt see the same backlash there that I have seen now on 2 threads regarding this original thread posted by this OP.
I am on neither side but am a little perplexed. Sorry if I am too uninformed to comment here.

In the home repairs we have done one supplier's very detail question air of their product. The dollar value was low compared to some items. The people who supplied me the product did a good job in most areas but could improve in others. I spent 20 minutes answering their questions and putting in what I felt could be better. The store manager wrote me a long email thanking me for my input. If one responds to the product or service question air or writes the supplier after the product is installed the suppliers will know what we want rater than guessing what we want. The cabinet people made some mistakes. One set was the wrong size. A quick fix would have been a spacer but it would not have looked the way we wanted. They replace cabinets. As before I had detail specifications and there was no question as to who made the error. Write down what you want and if you do not get it you have a case to get it corrected. If you say put in new radar and they mount things where you did not want them but you failed to provide details in writing and drawings it is not the dealers fault as the sales person is not the installer.
As one person once told me "If you do not ask you will never get but ask wisely"

I said it and it is the truth. I would sell my boat if I had to go back to Progressive!!!

Yep, exactly. When you're offered a $1000 printer for free in exchange for a positive review, are you going to turn it down?

Here's my new office printer that I got for free in exchange for a positive review -- https://epson.com/For-Work/Printers...mat-All-in-One-Supertank-Printer/p/C11CF49201

Sure, go ahead and judge me. But if I turn it down the next guy will say yes. Tell me that you would walk away from a free product worth $1000+ when all you need to do is spend 30 minutes posting reviews. My next deal is a new Windows laptop for free. This is exactly why none of the reviews you read are trustworthy.

Most people reading this aren't looking at me as unethical, they're asking how they can get in on the deal. Anyone interested can PM me and I will tell you how you can get in on it.

Mike,
I just remembered the comment, not the auther, sorry. I also stated my dissatisfaction with "the good hands people"! I am not attacking anyone by any means, I am just trying to understand what was so offensive about this "original post" that has garnered so much negative reaction. I only used that insurance thread as an example of people sharing their vendor (in this case, insurance) experiences, pro & con. I guess I just came in too late here and am best just bowing back out.
Happy Holidays Folks!

In the original post the poster was sharing his bad 'service' experience with a specific SR dealer. He posted actual e-mail communications with identifying names and locations included.

If you need to post a review of bad service go on active captain, they have a place just for you to comment on service received, good or bad.I want to add ,please do so properly without anger so as to help other boaters and not bash what others may have had a positive experience with.

I think you can also use yelp to provide reviews of service.

The main problem with your original post was that you really didn't convey what happened, just posted emails which contained personal information. I would think that a post that outlined your experience, history of the events and frustration without dropping into the cellar (i.e. targeting specific individuals) would probably not be met with too much resistance.

There is a fine line that can be walked in detailing one's customer service issues and seeking a solution, but to post with no other goal than trashing the facility and/or person you are ticked off at...well, CSR isn't the place for that.

Well that just muddies the water. As a moderator you are saying its not the content of the post just the way its delivered.
