As my sig suggests I have an 83 SRV-197.
I bought her midway through the summer knowing there was enough summer left to get a good shakedown and feel for what she needs.
The only thing I have changed on the boat so far was to rebuild the card since it needed it.
List so far is, Interior: this is a choice the wife and I made since she wants to alter the colors a bit so were going to get the interior redone and the sun deck / engine cover remade.
Charging system: She does not charge the battery at all, I keep 2 onboard, one to use and one for backup. Before we go out I have to put a fresh charged battery in every time.
Trim: guage is pegged and wont trim up unless the trailer button is used, thats getting fixed. ( recent issue)
Leak: Somewhere in the transom there is a leak, looks to be somewhere in the sterndrives connection to the boat itself.
Trailer winch: it's beat and needs replacing.
General checkout of engine before next season for stability and condition.
I like this boats design and power for size and plan on getting the most out of her next summer. Ive converted my family from total landlubbers, half of which could not even swim at summers beginning to water lovers like I am thanks to this boat.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
