. . .ok, so today I am having a bad day.

The final straw was when I went to run the bilge blower, only to find the entire dash electrically dead.

This happened twice before. . .and it seemed to be a loose connection at the DC main panel. A slight tap on the panel (or an engine start) would cure it. No such luck today. With my trusty screwdriver, I took the panel apart and cleaned the contacts on the "control station main" breaker. Not happy with the dodgy electrical contact, I then removed the breaker.

A breaker is not supposed to have parts rattling around inside of it, right?

Anyone know where I can get a "Control Station Main" breaker? Carling Switch, Inc, 50A, SeaRay part number 826664? I am just dreading the call to the dealer tomorrow. . . . .

. . .I can see myself running the boat with a *$%&# 50amp fuse taped to the panel next weekend. . .

Hopefully it won't be too bad. Good luck. It's probably worth going OEM to sleep well at night. That way, when it fails again, you know where to look! (Always look on the bright side of life...... (Monty Python's, "Life of Brian"))

sadly, that part is likely only available from SR dealers. merc parts can be had in lots of alternate sources, and for a LOT better prices than at MM, etc.

OK. . .may as well finish out this thread.

Well, the breaker was pulled out of my boat on a Sunday.
Marine Max parts dept was closed on Monday.

Went online and found a suitable replacement -> Jim at BOE didn't have any instock, but I managed to find one on Tuesday. Got ripped off for expedited shipping, but had the breaker in hand on Thursday. Cost: About $30 IIRC.

It doesn't *look* identical to the other breakers, but it *fit perfectly* in the panel.

Good thing I didn't have to tape in a fuse: It was pouring rain when I ran the boat. (and I had to run the boat: It was being pulled for the winter!)

I'm glad you solved the issue. But still can't believe you’ve waited until end of December to be pulled out. It’s freezing here…

Oh. . .no I pulled out the Monday before Thanksgiving. I just didn't get back to thread until late December.

And yes. . it was horrible. Pouring rain and 40F.
What made it worse is that in addition to pulling the SeaRay, I had to take my sailboat across the bay to the yard where it was going to be stored. Brrrrr.
