I own this kid: https://www.denon.com/en-au/shop/avreceiver/avr1312

I no longer use it for home theater, I am surprisingly happy with the sound bar I bought.

I have 4 Polk bookshelf speakers in 4 rooms downstairs, with a powered sub next to the Denon AVR 1312. I plug my phone into a 3.5 25' audio cable that connects in the back with RCAs. I don't listen to the radio, no turntable, no CDs, no DVR, only streaming music now. I am happy with this wired set up and would like to keep the receiver and speakers.

I'd like "cut the 3.5 cord" and use my phone anywhere in the house to control the music (SiriusXM and Amazon Music) I am a Google/Android guy, no Apple stuff please. I've tried a couple of BT adapters to the receiver; sound quality is meh and you are stuck using their interface on your phone.

I've look at Denons HEOS, again stuck using their interface on your phone. I looked at a new receiver, again stuck using their interface AND their wireless speakers should I ever want to add some in other rooms.

I'm curious to hear what others are doing. My budget is cheapo, ~$400.

Need somewhere to store all this stuff too, the Misses is getting upset...

You’re also stuck using the phone or voice command, but the Sonos ecosystem is good. Even if you only add the “port” which will plug right into your receiver

I have a Harmon Kardon home theater receiver with Definitive speakers and powered sub. I know you said no iPhone, 3.5” Y adapter, etc, but I do use my old iPhone 6 just for streaming purposes. I run it to an aux input. If you have an older Android, maybe you can use it for that purpose?

Yeah, crutchfield suggested that port. They also suggested a bluesound port. Or a HEOS Link. I'll be making made a commitment to their stuff for the future though, right? Their wireless speakers for example.

That’s cool. I like that NODE. Never knew something like that was available.

Yep they’re all good, just make sure they support lossless streaming and pick one system so everything works well together.

Wow....I read through this thread to here and it makes me realize how out of date I am about such stuff. Most of the terms you-all used don't compute. I just don't get the why.... I say, you guys need to go outside to play more. ;)
