How can I test for stray voltage that may damage my out drive? .. Also; is it normal when I toggle the test switch in my 110 volt control panel and the reverse polarity light comes on, and then goes off when I release the switch? The boat is in my pol barn pluged in.

I just finished up hard wireing a 12v smart charger and am a little concerned on the grounding. Thanx ...Ron

The boat is in your barn? I don't think you have to worry about galvanic corrosion of the outdrive if you're not in the water.

Sounds like the boat needs to be in the water to do a voltage check. Also now looks like I got some irreversible corrosion to my gimble ring. Looks like a B to change too. Probably just try to paint it a get another year out of it. Thanx ...Ron

If the corrosion is not too bad you could try passavation cream. They usually use it for sailing hardware to protect stainless steel.

Thanks. It sounds like I need to detour the corrosion to get the paint to take. ...Ron
