In case anyone was wondering - you can modify the stock bimini to fit under a MonsterTower MT1, at least on a 2005 185. I tackled the project today and was able to get it under the MT1 tower. Essentially I cut 8" off the three tubes which go down to the boat and lowered the center support 8". It's nice and tight and with a little flexing back and forth it will extend up and fold down under the tower. Not sure the Sea Ray bimini cover will fit any more though. When folded the center tube is 8" below the other two. I suppose I could have left the front tube a bit longer so the whole thing would fit farther forward but I was going on trial and error and this was my first trial. Not so easy to make it longer again (and make it look nice). Small price I guess. I'm 6'3" and have to bend over a bit to fit under but its not too bad. We'll see how it really works when we hit the lake this summer.

A little hard to see with all the stuff in my garage but you get the idea.
