Still Pond Raft '09

I am with Josh on the genny.... runs the whole time. So tell me where you want us... FYI...I plan to get there Friday late afternoon. Stan - What time does the margarita machine spin up?

It will "spin up" upon our arrival - we expect to be there noon/early afternoon on Friday. We'll be on the inside.

Note - Was "inside" at Still Pond recently and noticed two areas on the way in where depth readings dropped to 3 feet. Some spotty shoaling no doubt and the reading was very short lived. Nonetheless, this may be an anxious moment for first timers.

Oh no... If I run aground again, Skip will have a hay day...

There is a shallow spot, just after you make the turn at the tree. Here is my Dad leaving, he draws 4'9". At this point, he is just past the shallow spot:

The shallow spot would have been below him when he was right here:

When I went through a few weekends ago, the lowest # I saw was 3.6 feet. My props touch at 1.6, so I had 2' under the wheels which means the water was ~5'8" deep.

Plenty of room!

Big drafters may want to wait until high tide and/or pass on going through at low tide. Unfortunately, the low tide for Friday is 12:36PM, with high tides at 5:16am and 4:57pm. Not ideal... I'm happy to go first and plow a way though.

Thanks Tim, just go fast so you cut deep!... So should we stay to port or starboard, or does it matter?

Where does your genny exahaust exit? I recall port... if so I should go on your starboard side because mine exits to starboard. Whomever is next to me can revel in the sound of global warming in action. Actually, my genny's pretty quiet compared to some I've heard!

I was there yesterday. yes it does get shallow but its a soft and sandy bottom and the boat can be walked into position, if needed.

Yea, I know you were.............you went right by me, I was the one with the 370DA with the blue top. I was in the water cleaning the sides, gotta have the boat nice and clean for the raft off this weekend........... beautiful out on the bay yesterday.

Gents, I'm going to have to back out. I'm stuck on land until the first week of August. At least I'll make Rock Hall for the Pirates thing. Hope to see you all there.

We won't be up to this event... Some posts ago someone posted " If Mom ain't happy....." So True... Well Mom has a slip at Rock Hall Landing next Saturday... LOL That, coupled with the confirmed attendance of our non boating couple, well you get the picture...

So we are tourists in Rock Hall next weekend!!

I expect pictures to rival the AC thread!!!

The weather is looking to be great, enjoy! Hopefully will catch up with you all out on the bay soon.. Take Care!!

Alright we'll it looks like most everyone wants to go on the inside which is probably a good idea for me as well, if a storm comes at low tide not sure I'd be able to make it to the inside.

Ryan - Can I follow you in

Otherwise it looks like I'll be there mid-afternoon Friday.

Can't wait to see 20 Sea-Rays in a row!

We should be able to make at least Friday & Saturday. Not particular inside or out, as depth is not an issue (94' 330 dancer) We have to pull the hook at around 4-5pm on Saturday, but we're looking forward to meeting some of you. Thanks for the invite Festivus.

Just got an email from a buddy of mine.........he asked me if I wanted to go to Still Pond this weekend, HA, HA, now that's funny.

Anyway, I told him about our raft off and he wants to join us.......If it is o.k........He has a 370DA and would be coming in with me Saturday morning. If that's cool, could someone add Tentacles 37 to the list.
