Stern Light Burgee Clips

If any of you are interested, I had my flag pole here at home so I just took this picture of the mounting mechanism on mine.

You can move the mounting point up or down on the flag with the thumbnail adjusters. You get a nice clean attachment point that way. The big knurled point under the top attaching point allows you to telescope the pole as well.

Like I said this unit appears to be the same one on the iboat link that Wesley provided.

Thanks much Jim.

Dave, how was the fit with the flag pole? The one Wesley had pointed out said not for use while underway. Were you able to use yours at speed?

Thanks in advance.

It had a good fit and I did use mine at speed with no adverse problems. It has holes in the end so it fits right on the pins in the mounting socket just like your light would. I suspect there may be some concerns on the part of the manufacturer of the mounting on the boat itself not holding up properly. I thought the mounting on the 240SD was pretty sturdy but I suppose on some boats this could be a problem. Also depending on the size and weight of the flag, if it's too big or too heavy that could also cause too much strain on everything as well. The flag I was using was the old SRO flag which was pretty lightweight.

Just for clarification I posted two links...the first one was the diving flag pole which is not to be used while underway...the second was the flag and seemed to be made for use while underway. This is the one that Dave has. I think the intent on this one and the one that I linked from iboat is to be used while underway.

Hope that clears it up somewhat

Wesley... Any chance that you can measure the diameter of the bimini support pole? From the looks of it, it appears to be about 1/2" but I want to make sure. Thanks in advance mate...

I measured mine this weekend and they are 1" OD, mine is an 04.

Yes the vertical pole, now it is back to the drawing board and find a 1 inch clamp to fit that pole.

Thanks Wesley and Midway. I am looking also Midway but most seem to be either 1/2" or 3/4". I was thinking of getting some of the thin rubber gasket material and then use a good zip tie around the gasket. The gasket would keep the zip tie from sliding up and down the pole and protect the pole from any marring.
